  1. Our 5th grade daughter is in Don't Miss These Books 1 with Jodi Smith. She loves it and Jodi does a great job! The book list on the page where you sign up will be helpful in knowing what books are covered in the course. We are considering the other two courses for her and another daughter. We have had Josie Lowery for another class and loved her, but have not had her for the Don't Miss These Books courses yet.
  2. Our daughter is currently taking Rhetoric 1 with Mr. Baker not having taken Logic 2 (she had Logic 1 with Mr. Baker), and is doing well.
  3. Wilson Hill Academy has a selection of AP courses.
  4. We have had a great experience with Wilson Hill Academy.
  5. So, has anyone read the "report" that Veritas Press put out regarding the Omnibus plagiarism? Are they refuting the allegations of plagiarism? I am curious if they will plan to edit (heavily) these books and add citations.
  6. We have a daughter in Honor's Comp this year and one signed up next year. We have not heard about changes. I am curious as well. Starlet Baker is WONDERFUL, though!
  7. Actually, if you consider that there are two VP courses - primary and secondary - that are equivalent to one Great Conversations course, WHA is cheaper, I believe even doing the self-paced option.
  8. If you buy it, I would wait for it to go on sale. They run sale for $100 off regularly (almost always in Sept) for the self-paced course.
  9. Teachers left for a variety of reasons, and not all who left ultimately found employment with WHA. Nancy and Bob Donaldson started the school, not ANY teachers who were employed by VPSA at the time of WHA's founding.
  10. VP had what I would call "Master Teachers" in all disciplines. These teachers are not only "Master Teachers," but have mastered the art of teaching in an online format. 2-3 years ago, they started leaving in droves due to leadership/admin issues. There are a few still there for next year, but I would estimate 70-80% have left to other places, many seeking legal counsel as they do.
  11. VPSA has had major admin/leadership issues. There are many teachers that have left to go to many other places due to various reasons pertaining to leadership.
