  1. My dd is almost done with Saxon 8/7 and I am thinking about adding Jousting Armadillos to our math routine. I feel like Saxon is giving my dd a good foundation but there is no math playfulness or delight in it. Since we are in no hurry to do Algebra, I am hoping that the alternating days of Saxon, which is such a good foundation, and JA which looks juicier, might be a well rounded math education.
  2. Skip the tree. You've got enough on your plate. :grouphug:
  3. My twelve year old dd loves to make stop motion animation with her Legos. For my dd, at this point, the Legos are just the vehicle for the story telling. We happen to have a lot of Lego sets with boats, fish, octopus, sharks, treasure chests, pirates...These work well for her stories and have added a new dimension to her Lego play. The app she uses was free. :)
  4. I am so sorry. Sending love and healing to you and your family.
  5. That is stressful! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  6. Fantastic! It sounds like a great fit and will benefit both your daughter and the nursing home.
  7. I have had my mind changed a few times by (thought out, respectful) arguments. It doesn't happen on the spot. It's usually that I hear the argument, feel really really defensive, can't sleep at night, turn it over in my mind, still feel defensive, examine why I feel that way...and realize it's because my side of the argument is lame. This is different than the constant evolution of ideas and beliefs I have that are more gradual.
  8. I came home yesterday and found a fresh baked loaf of sourdough bread on the counter. I have a sourdough fairy!
  9. I had such a good experience with a tradesman I married him. :001_wub:
  10. :grouphug: I am coming up on this time with my parents and listening in.
  11. I read the title of this thread as, "Anyone else not read much this year?" I misread it several times. Apparently I need reading remediation, glasses, and a nap. :svengo:
