  1. She picked this one! Thanks!
  2. My dancer needs a new dance bag, suitable for multiple pairs of shoes, without black lining. Any idea how to find that? It seems like they all have black lining!
  3. If you're going to teach zones of regulation to a gifted child, do it while they're still 3 or so. My child, who desperately needed to learn the concepts, was so put off by the language and approach that she refused to cooperate with what the therapist was trying to teach her. Even at age 6-7, she felt patronized and found the colors babyish.
  4. I would recommend place kicker as well. However, if his school is so small they can barely put together a team, he won't be allowed to play just on special teams. They'll likely want him in an offensive position too like running back because he's probably pretty agile. That carries a lot of danger of being hit.
  5. I love Ambleside's years 7-12 history and literature selections. I also love SWB's history books and the study guides that go with them. Has anyone ever figured out a way to combine it all together?
  6. I read the acceptance thread every year with amazement. If you have homeschooled one or more kids through high school who ended up with a full scholarship to their dream school, as far as I'm concerned, you've earned the right to charge money for homeschool consulting. Anyone interested in doing this? I'll be your first client.
  7. Yes, but only if it's convenient to do so and it's something I think my kids would enjoy. Our local high schools put on huge high-quality musical productions. It's a great way for my kids to get to see musicals without paying professional prices.
  8. Are there any serious long-term problems with using IEW that I should know about before putting my daughter in a class next year?
  9. Hypothetically speaking, if one were to send a recommendation letter via FedEx so that it arrives at the scholarship office on the day of the deadline, and one receives an email notification from FedEx that the letter was signed for at 2:14 p.m. on the correct day, is it safe to assume that everything is okay and the student's eligibility for scholarships will not be in danger?
  10. Off-topic: my husband brought one of those home from a business trip for ds who was 4 at the time. He took it to preschool for show-and-tell. Big hit.
