  1. I would love to hear from anyone who has used these levels. We finished E about a month ago and we have only gotten through about 6 lessons in F and I'm just worn out. Maybe it is spring and the end of the year, but I have just been having my son do Beast Academy a year behind his RS because he can do it independently. I'm just wondering, Is G more independent? Is it worth it to do RS F and G? Maybe I just need a bit of a break, or maybe I need to change curriculum. If you have done F or G and think it is great, give me some encouragement. Or maybe you don't think it is worth it. Until now, we have felt good about RS and I think it has been the right curriculum despite it being teacher intensive. Thanks!
  2. My child would have pretty significant behavior changes when he took Tylenol. I only have it to him rarely but he couldn’t sleep and would be super restless and it was terrible on top of being sick. I will have to look into this some more. I just give him baby aspirin now. Honestly, Tylenol is pretty hard on one’s body in general.
  3. What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Menopause by John Lee talks a lot about bioidentical progesterone. It has some very interesting information about these issues. I don't want to summarize it because I can't remember enough to give good info but it addresses these issues
  4. Anyone have any suggestions for a fun spelling app? I'm just trying to find something to reinforce correct spelling. This is for an 9 and 6 year old. We use Logic of English Essentials and Foundations but they need some practice and I'm looking for something independent. Thanks!
  5. So what is special about 54 BPM? I'm just wondering. I keep seeing that number and I can't figure out where it comes from. Thanks!
  6. Oh wow, that is heartbreaking. And I have a fear of this as well. I'm so sorry and I hope you are able to get some photos through friends or relatives copies.
  7. I have read Unbroken and I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of how much gentler, the young reader edition is and how old your child was when they read it. And what you think of it. Especially if you have read the original. Thanks,
  8. I would second the feeling about the LG brand. It’s horrible. I can’t wait to get different one. I have never been so unhappy with a fridge. However, my mom has the French doors and bottom freezer and I love hers (not LG) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’m not saying I would eat it, but assuming it was heated in the soup up to a boiling or almost boiling temperature, dangerous bacteria would not survive. The other thing is, when she opened the container, if it was really old, she would have smelled it, even if she didn’t actually take a close whiff. I might take a taste of the soup smelled alright, but I’m so conditioned not to waste food. As far as being “potentially hazardous, “ pasta is considered potentially hazardous as well. It has to do with the moisture content in rice and the bacteria that will grow in it, but again, as long as it is heated above 60 degrees Celsius, that hazardous bacteria would be killed. 10. I don’t think you can assume anything about how a seller ranks a book on amazon. I bought a “used like new†book, which I would have assumed did not have writing in in and it was full of writing. It was in no way “like newâ€. Of course you can’t do much except give them a bad review. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. We just started WWE 2 too and I try to spell out the words I think my child will have trouble with. I think it says that in WWE. It is not meant to be a test of spelling. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have heard of this and would try it but I only ever use dried beans not canned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I would get a bubble bum booster seat for the 4 and 6 year old. They are about $30 on amazon. They are super easy to travel with. I think you would need to bring a car seat for the infant. Check the laws in California. Some states don’t require car seats in taxies. San Diego is super fun with kids. I don’t think it is hard city to get around. We did not have a car and walked and used the street car. Enjoy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So we use RS and Beast but use Beast a year behind and use it for review. :). I do the Right Start lessons with my child and either my husband will do a little Beast with him on his days off or he will do it by himself during his table work time. My focus is getting through the RS as the years curriculum and Beast is designed to be a fun review with a different way of looking at things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think a lot people get bogged down in Right Start C with the geometric drawing part. It is fine to skip some or substitute skills that the child needs to work on. If you continue with RS, there will be more opportunities to gain those skills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I feel you. I removed foil wall paper with sand as texture from a house years ago and it took ages even with a steamer. It was so painful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Pulling it is a bizarre recommendation. As a child I did not have enamel in several teeth and they used white composite and filled it in. I have had no issues in 30 years. Current dentists says we will need to redo it eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. These are great. Card games are fine too, I just wanted to clarify that I didn't mean something online. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Looking for your favorite math board games. I am looking for about 1st grade through 5th grade level. We have Sum Swamp but I would like to get something that my older child can enjoy too. Tell me why they are your favorite of you can. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We zipped through WWE 1 with my 8 year old in a couple of months and are starting 2. I skipped the copy work section because, he was already doing daily. I would say start with WWE 2. It seems like it would be a stretch to start in 3, but you could easily skip 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Our house was white and now it is eggplant. Looking at pictures, it looks so much better now. But it is a matter of taste and ours is a ranch, so not ideal in white. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I think parents should help as much as they can but not go into debt to pay for a child's college. I think there more resonable financial options like doing the first two years at community college, which is free in my community. I really don't think anyone should go into debt for an undergrad degree unless the degree leads directly to marketable skills and a decent paying job. I realize this is not always feesible but doing community college and state school and living at home does help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My kids learned with No stress Chess as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. If you have an iPod or Kindle or something like that I would just get white noise or nature sounds track. I used to have white noise machines but they broke and I have just used an Kindle since then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
