  1. As long as it smells ok and you throughly cook it, it will be fine. The dates that it says use by are very conservative. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It depends on age and what level they have reached (I do require a certain amount of musical proficiency before I would allow kids to quick). I might suggest they chose a differ instrument to try if I was not quite willing to let them quick altogether. However, it also depends on the personality of the child and how much of a fight it was going to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hmm, I did it with wintergreen necoes and it worked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Women who are bleeding that much may want to see an interventional radiologist and see if they are candidates for uterine artery embolization. I have heard from those that have done it that is is great. And much less invasive than a hysterectomy. I know some that couldn't go anywhere because she was bleeding so much and got a lot of relief from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Some enameled has lead in it. So I would stick with non enameled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have only ever seen one, but I think at a playground I would try and let someone know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Wow, that's terrible. I always thought other people provided the food for a funeral. I have always seen potlucks after funerals and immediate family doesn't have to worry about it. I'm sorry about what happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Another attorney here who thinks lawyering is not particularly family friendly or flexible. I keep up my CLEs but I don't think I will go back. Part of it is having both spouses with demanding jobs just doesn't work with kids in my opinion. One spouse really has to have some flexibility when you have kids because kids are so needy and unpredictable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Someone asked my parents if I was adopted and said they thought I was from China. Then when I was with my son when he was a baby someone said to me "he's biracial isn't he". Such an odd thing to ask somebody. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would buy audio of the previous conference if that was available too. If it's not possible to actually have a whole new conference. I'm sure others would like this option as well. The previous conference looks like it had some great topics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Did you miss the story of Esther? And the story of Ruth? Those are both fairly short books that you could read without an abridged version and your kids should have no problem understanding. Also, I think they are pretty good stories, but we are Jewish so I might be a bit partial. But both of those have lots to discuss and they are not the whole messing up and repenting cycle. At their age they should have no problem reading the actual bible. I would just pick stories to read out loud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I agree if the child is interested they would probably be able to sit through it just fine. As far as the content being scary or whatnot, I haven't seen it so I can't comment on that. I will say, my very distractable and disruptive child sat through a 3 hour Mary Poppins play when he was 5ish, because he loves the story. So if you are worried about it maybe see if there is a children's theater nearby or a less professional play at a high school or something and if the child can sit through that no problem then go for it. 13. You don't have to be that precise with baking. Many bread recipes approximate the amount of flour you need because you kneed in the flour until it feels right. Same with cookies you are rolling out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I regularly offer food (fruit, granola bars, meat sticks) to panhandlers and they regularly refuse it. I know human trafficking is a problem but I think most of these people are just homeless and drugs are a big issue. Very sad all around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Students can absolutely get private student loans without a cosigner. And private student loan interest rates can be really high and student loans are basically impossible to discharge in bankruptcy even if the person is disabled or will never be able to pay them back. It is a huge problem. I will say I will never take out student loans for my kids and very much encourage them not to as well (at least for undergrad). I will encourage them to do community college and state schools and hopefully with the state sponsored savings plan we will be able to do it. I totally understand that this won't work for everybody though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I don't think you sound like a terrible person. I also don't understand why you have to keep him. Can't you just say he is lost and leave him at the humane society? What do people normally do with dogs that they find? I can't imagine they just keep them. I don't know much about dogs. I'm sorry you are in this situation though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I would call the doctor if she can't get in right away talk to the advice nurse. I would also stop taking it (and use other forms of birth control if needed). Most people have no problems with the BCP but I know one friend who had a pulmonary embolism. So weird symptoms would concern me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Can I ask how your use The book, Tap into Joy? I just bought it and we are trying it out but I feel like in the moment of anger, there is no way he could compose himself enough to do one of the scrips even with assistance. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ya know, I used to have patience. I had so much patience. I taught special ed and had kids with pretty severe disabilities and behavior issues. Why is it so much harder when it is your own kids? I suppose being with my kids 24/7 has something to do with it. Anyway, hugs to the OP and all those that need it. I feel your pain. 20. Does she have a bell. I hate to see cats kill birds. Especially native ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don't think you sound ungrateful at all. I also think if they gave you the receipt than they are unlikely to be offended if you return it. Just my take. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My kids have had supernumeraries and retained baby teeth. We have had teeth removed. And we are still waiting for the grown up teeth to grow in. I'm praying they do eventually. Good luck with your child's teeth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Oh these are great! Yosemite sounds right up our alley. And San Diego would be sun shining and warm, and I've never been to San Francisco. Thanks. I should mention we usually go the first or second week in December to avoid traveling during the busy time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. In our family, instead of gifts we usually do a 3-4 night trip somewhere. I'm trying to think of some ideas. We are in the Pacific Northwest and in the past we have taken the train, driven or flown. I wouldn't want to fly more than 2 hrs or so someplace in Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah or Arizona. Any fun creative ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
