  1. I am actually in the same boat as you. My kids are doing all three Zoology books this year. We started with the flying creatures book but decided that it would be more fun to do all three over the course of the year or however long it takes since we school all year.I have my 8 year old doing the regular notebooking journal and my 6 year old is doing the junior notebooking journal. They love to read the books even in their free time.
  2. I have all 4 volumes in audio but I haven't bought the activity books yet. We are listening to Vol. 2 right now and the kids are also doing Veritas Press NTGR as well. Do the activities in the activity books help with retention? My kids are not into coloring so if the activities are primarily coloring pages then my kids won't do them.
  3. I live in a suburb north of Dallas.
  4. I bought the VP New Testament, Greece and Rome course and scheduled it to start from next week and also the Middle Ages course which is due to start in August.
  5. I just have a tentative idea for the moment: Math -----Math in Focus (I have already ordered it and I hope it won't be too big a switch from TT that we have done so far) Geography--- Beautiful Feet Geography through literature History ----Veritas Press self paced( waiting for it to go on sale) Writing ----Classical Composition by Memoria Press Grammar-----R & S 5 Spelling----Spelling Power Science--- Apologia Anatomy and Physiology and Botany( maybe) I have no idea about what else we'll be doing. My sons also swim 3 times a week, private piano lessons and gymnastics so they stay busy? Any recommendations on everything that I have missed?
  6. Hi, I am Linzi and I am planning on homeschooling my 1st and 3rd grader for the first time this fall. I am really nervous as I have very social kids and I don't want them to feel cooped up at home. I am also researching a lot of curricula and I am overwhelmed as everyone seems to have had different experiences with the various curriculum available nowadays. Both my sons were in the gifted program in public school. They are very analytical and science oriented and therefore would prefer a rigorous science and math based curriculum. I am a liberal arts graduate with very little scientific training and already both my boys know more than me since they read a lot. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge from the collective wisdom in this forum and I would love to have some suggestions for science and language arts curriculum. Regards, Linzi
