  1. I'm short. I prefer when the person in front of me reclines. It brings the tray closer to me :)
  2. Our public schools are starting on sept 3rd so that's when we will likely start. This summer has been very busy so I'm considering waiting until the 8th.
  3. My son is super skinny and he was so happy when we found the Epic brand at Macy's. The have regular, skinny and super skinny jeans. I've always had to buy him the super skinny and they fit him like normal jeans. He's filled out a bit this year so we may be able to get away with just the skinny jeans this year. Good luck.
  4. We dropped DS off at sleep away camp this morning. We got back around 3:30 and installed most of the backsplash in the kitchen. Oh and picked veggies in the garden. That's about it. Tomorrow I have a long list to tackle.
  5. This is out first year homeschooling so we haven't had any formal homeschooling experience as of yet BUT since ds was little he's loved the game Sequence. Because of that games he's known the capital of each state for years. At 12 he still loves to play the game. Here's a link to the game http://www.monticelloshop.org/120239.html?adpos=1o4&creative=42212924305&device=t&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQjwsJyfBRC729Oy5Pf26ekBEiQAYtd9QZfjPTgc9JqWg3InKCCzvqJLVgEyvXca3hwuETjEDMQaAgDj8P8HAQ
  6. Hi Aimee. I didn't know it was her birthday yesterday!!! Happy birthday to her!! Can she get any more beautiful!?!?!?! Did you cry? I'm pretty sure ill cry in November when Robbie turns 13 lol. Hope she had a fantastic day.
  7. We're going for the first time at the end of September. I think I'm more excited than ds lol. We've been to disney during every other holiday time except Halloween.
  8. If my child was home because of surgery the only rules would be to follow drs orders. I have a 19 year old dd who lives at home. She's entering her second year of college in a few weeks. We've never had a curfew for her. It's never been needed. All I ask is out of respect let us know where she will be and approximately what time she'll be home. She's always been a respectful of that. I do have a "no more than 20 hours of work a week during school year" rule. I want her to focus on school. She has her whole life to work and she tends to be a bit of a workaholic that overcommits herself on occasion. During the summer and winter breaks she can take on as many hours as she likes. We pay all of her expenses except leisure gas. We give her enough gas money to get to and from work and school. She pays anything beyond that. She's also responsible for her play money. My kids know that the day they no longer appreciate what we do for them is the day we no longer will do for them.
  9. If you asked me a few years ago if I'd ever homeschool I would've said "no way". Here I am now sure that this is the best option for us. I bought in this area for their superior school district. Unfortunately, as the common core got implemented the quality of education (and standards) here has been lowered. After 2 years of research I finally felt confident enough to pull DS out. I've been lurking on this site for months getting amazing ideas. Ds is 12 and starting 8th grade except for science and math, both of which will be 9th grade. I'm pretty confident in the curriculums we chose thanks to everyone on here but still sooo nervous that I will do him an injustice. I wish someone would've warned me how addicting buying curriculum is lol I look forward to picking all your brains through this journey!
