  1. I don't have your qualifications but maybe this will help I decided to go back to school and get my MA in English - hoping to pursue a Ph.D. but one step at a time. I considered getting the Teaching Credential, I am not cut out for teaching k-12 in ps - my sister is a teacher and I can tell I'm not the "teacher type" either I need to make money as well, I will probably be on my own soon so I need to prepare so it is a hard decision - teaching in a k-12 seems like sure $, but CA is cutting so many teachers I don't know if that is true anymore. Teaching at a college/university is much more my style and would work out better for hsing as well. hth a little at least, it has been my experience that you can't go wrong if you follow your passion -
  2. sorry, no advice, except maybe trying talking to him - but you've probably done that a thousand times I do have hugs though : ):grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: sorry for your loss
  3. Lately I've had to dial way back on the controlling, or at least I've lost my desire for it. I've come to understand that some of the things I thought I had control over - I really don't. I'm trying now to figure out how to find a happy medium - is there such a thing? I have girls so my dh has pretty much leaves alot of parenting issues to me -when he disagrees, I will voice my opinion (again) and then let it go. I've had to trust that God will protect my girls whatever it may be; big swells when they go surfing , a not so good movie, crappy t.v. etc. this probably doesn't help at all - just know you're not alone
  4. I'm going to start a self-study and hopefully be about 6 months ahead of dds when they finish LL. I bought the books (including MP's guide) and joined the Yahoo group. How many hours per week would I need to keep up do you think thanks Chris
  5. I will tell you that Comet cleanser takes out green from hair - enough said
  6. as the OP of the first thread I'd have to say these thoughts are raw right now, if I knew my dh had an affair or whatever physical relationship with another woman I would plan to leave as soon as I could make it on my own it would make our marriage a lie and everything I hold dear likewise - it's very cut and dry for me
  7. for your kind words, wisdom and prayers. Dh did something that really harmed our marriage - not physical cheating, but bad enough to me to think about leaving. I'm going to stay. But right now I'm planning for my future in case it doesn't involve dh, and if it does, then we will both benefit. That way if he betrays the marriage again - I'm not trapped. This is just continuing what we were planning as a family, but will help me out if I need it. I can't be the woman who follows up on her husband - I won't do it - It will literally drive me crazy I won't stick my head in the sand either I found out about this my mere mistake - I think God revealed it - I'll have to trust my own common sense and His guidance And as I'd love to believe my dh as the saying goes fool my once ... shame on you fool me twice .... shame on me .
  8. I haven't been around for awhile and hate that my first post back is so vague, but I just don't know how much to tell, etc. Suffice it to say that our marriage took a blow this weekend and I'm reeling. I feel trapped, sick, and done.
  9. Oh, I misunderstood the poll, I put actual because we actually do celebrate it as Jesus' birthday - but I know Jesus' birthday was in the fall most likely.
  10. free would be great, but I will pay if it works well thanks so much chris
  11. I'm actually pursuing MA in English right now. I have a BA in Psychology - big fat waste of time! I'm going for the MA to teach, and I hope a Ph.D. will follow. What I love about English is that it is a combination of philosophy, psychology, history, rhetoric, and literature. I love the books and don't mind the criticism, but I am not a writer, I have always played with writing, but never plan or planned on making a living that way.
  12. I'm in the dark here, so if you could help and be as detailed as possible I'd appreciate it - thanks Also, would "I" need a syllablus? Does it include answers in the text or is that a separate book? again thanks Chris
  13. Agree with OP - just didn't get what was so great about this book, didn't know that the same author wrote Winn Dixie - makes sense - hated that movie.
  14. any suggestions? I am starting from square one, except my limited exposure to my dds Lively Latin exercises. I was going to work ahead of them using that, but I really need something that will move faster - thanks! Chris
