  4. I think that’s a great idea. The counselor won’t be able to discuss the student with you, but you can discuss the student with the counselor, if that makes sense.

  7. Back in the 1970’s, my high school Sunday School class did a book study on a book called When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold Kushner. Kushner is a rabbi whose son died of a degenerative disease in his early teens. I don’t remember much about it. My church was then and still is very a liberal United Methodist Church.

  14. Thank you! Her uncles bought him the tie. I thought that was so sweet.
  15. There is a representative from each grade level on the court. The Homecoming Queen is always a senior. My son’s girlfriend was not the queen.
  16. My son escorted his girlfriend the last two years on the homecoming court. He got her a corsage (ok, I got him a corsage to give her) both years. He was her date, though, so that might make a difference.
  17. The deadline for registration is not October 4. That may be an artificial one that your school set, but the deadline is November 15 for schools.
  18. It is new this year. In past years, you could pay for something called AP Insight that was the same thing. This year it is free for teachers with approved syllabi.
  19. When you register for the test there is a list of things you sent to. This is one of them. “We occasionally pretest new questions to determine if they should be included in a future version of the SAT. These questions may appear in any of the test sections, and testing time will be extended by 20 minutes so students have time to answer them. They will not be included in computing students’ scores. Scored test items and entire test forms may be used in more than one test administration.”
  20. For club soccer we do pay the coach’s travel fees. We pay mileage and per diem. We are in Georgia.
  21. I think there is some sort of discounted prime for college students. Your daughter might want to look into that.
