  1. That’s exactly what I thought!
  2. The Mysterious Star by Joanne Marxhausen was my favorite as a kid. It is out of print, but you can find used copies. I love this book and keep a couple on hand to give a Christmas gifts.
  3. About AP Classroom videos… I teach calculus not stats, but this hint might work for stats, too. I make guided notes to go with the videos for my students. Mostly it’s the problems already on paper so they don’t have to pause to do that. It just gives them a little help. Those problems get very wordy, and they really need the whole problem on paper, not just what they think are the important parts.
  4. I have had lots of friends who have gone to school there and worked there over the years. I hope you love it.
  5. Infinite Powers by Strogatz, mentioned above, would be good for this purpose.
  6. Hemingway’s Nick Adams stories take place in northern Michigan. It’s been a while since I read them, sitting on Walloon Lake where Hemingway vacationed.
  7. What an amazing relationship! Wow! Thank you for sharing him with us over the years. I have always thought that you are one spectacular mom. Hugs.
  8. Maybe some different versions of the same song? Like Simon and Garfunkel vs Disturb’s Sounds of Silence. Or multiple versions of Proud Mary.
  9. Every time you post, I think of home. I always wonder if we have people in common. My parents moved us there in 1971. They were choosing between Columbia and Reston. I agree that it’s really expensive, and that’s one reason my parents moved after my dad retired. My parents’ house was worth more than 10x what they paid for it in 1978 when they sold it in 2004. (It was our second Columbia house.) I haven’t been back since my high school reunion in 2018. I would like to visit soon.
  10. Columbia, Maryland It’s where I grew up. I love that place.
  11. You know when t=0, there are 800 milligrams. You use that to find k, which should be 800. Then you can solve.
  12. My oldest two sons went to Georgia Tech. Besides their cool design classes in mechanical and aerospace engineering, they had some fun English classes. One of my sons had an English class based on the journals of Ivan Allen, Jr, who was mayor of Atlanta during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. The final project involved making a story map using GIS. They did a lot of reading based on what the former mayor had read. They did field trips. They met some interesting people, like John Lewis (right before he died) and Andrew Young. My oldest son had a class about science fiction and science reality. There was an article in the GT Alumni magazine about it. A friend who is an English teacher had classes with James Dickey, who wrote Deliverance. This was at UGA.
  13. Are you sure the school won’t know? I teach high school and the college automatically sends us the dual enrolled kids’ transcripts because those grades go on our transcripts. The student is not involved in submitting those transcripts to us.
  14. You might want to check out DeltaMath for review for the AP Exam. You would have to set up a teacher account, but it would give him access to AP Exam like questions and explanation videos.
  15. Wreck This Journal has been a hit here with boys and girls.
  16. The multiple choice section will be collected before the break. Students will not be able to revisit it during the essay portion. I proctored this exam last year.
  17. Your husband is correct. The state of Georgia did not approve the course. Fulton just hasn’t taken it off their website yet.
  18. Have you looked at Georgia College and State University? I have heard it has a small college vibe. Kids who go there planning to transfer to UGA lots of times end up staying. Also, I hope you can get him to visit North Georgia. Most of my students who go there are not in the military program.
  19. I can be logged into multiple google accounts simultaneously on chrome. I open the browser twice, so they are in different windows, not just different tabs. Also, for our organization, at the first board meeting each year, we have everyone bring their devices and do the two factor authentication at the meeting so everyone is situated. From time to time we have to redo if someone gets a new device, but it’s really not that big of deal.
  20. We shopped for my daughter at Ann Taylor Loft for a college admission interview a couple of weeks ago. She wore a houndstooth skirt, turtleneck sweater, black tights and booties. She also wore simple jewelry. The outfit looked like her.
  21. Are you bragging about the turkey or the Ledo’s? I miss Ledo’s Pizza.
