I actually could not access my library's website while in Europe (tried a number of different times and different countries). Do sometimes libraries block their sites from being accessed out of the country?

Technically I have. My husband and I started out in Singapore and made it as far as India before he couldn't handle travelling any longer (we had been gone 7 months and it was the very first time he had ever left the country) but our flight from India went the other way around, so it was still round the world even though the entire trip took place in south Asia.

My 8 year oId son was having the same issue, so I wouId let him copy the sentence one day and then the next day do the same sentence as a dictation, without looking. After a few weeks he didn't need to do it in two steps like that, though I still have to repeat the sentences more than just three times.

I get that same question and I just say, "I had blond hair when I was a kid." It never occurred to me that it was an offensive question or one that required a long explanation.

Have you tried scanning the item, placing it in the bag and then placing the bag on the scales? That works for me around here.

To me the crazy part would be if they ONLY won those states. For instance, what could happen to demographics that would cause California to vote differently than Oregon and Washington state? These states also have growing urban centers that outvote the rural areas of the country, Or look at this way. If those 11 states vote for one candidate, that means Washington state, Oregon, Alabama and Mississippi would have all voted for the other candidate. Just how much would the world have to change for that to happen??

That's interesting, but in what world could it ever happen that those 11 states would vote one way and the other 39 states would vote differently? I feel like for this to be a real problem, you would need to have it so a person could be elected only with states in the same region or otherwise share some major similarity. Like for instance, if a candidate could be elected only by southern states or only by midwest states. Then that creates the potential for other regions of the country to be ignored. But your 11 states represent the whole country pretty well, you have west coast states, east coast states, midwest states, southern states. No way could a candidate win those 11 states and not have appeal in any of the bordering states, kwim?

Actually, from your description it was probably diphtheria. That one was infamous for killing all or most of a family's children.

You could put it in the oven with just the light on. It works for incubating yogurt, so it should work for other bacteria as well!

When we unintentionally got pregnant with #5 while we had toddler twins, which meant having three kids born in exactly a two year time period.

So jealous of people who have immersion schools as an option! I love homeschooling but I could not pass up on the opportunity for my children to learn another language to the degree they could in an immersion school if I had the option.

Do you mean you'd teach the words one by one or that you would teach the languages one by one? (Obviously you're not going to provide complete language instruction in every influential language but enough so that one would know how to pronounce words.)

I'd send them to public school because I'm not going to only teach them one subject, no matter how life changing it is.

Is there anything out there that provides instruction for how to pronounce words of foreign origin that don't follow phonics rules? English phonics have been mastered, so I'm not looking for a full phonics curriculum, rather something that teaches the child how to recognize what language a word comes from and how to pronounce it.

I remember feeling a bit inferior when I left my husband alone with our four kids for the day and came back to it being so much cleaner than it normally was. Then I found out that in order to accomplish that he didn't eat at all the whole day, nor feed the kids an actual meal. (The kids managed to get a hold of a loaf of bread, so they weren't totally starving.)

So is there something that rules out the brother intentionally luring her down to the basement and killing her? That makes more sense to me than him accidentally killing her and the parents staging it to look like a sex crime. What kind of parents wouldn't call 911 the second they found their child severely injured? Even if she was dead, most parents would hope against hope that it really wasn't the case and that doctors would have some way of saving her.

We have one weekly activity that we drive 45 minutes for, and then there will be various one off activities or doctor's appt, speech therapy, that all require driving about an hour one way. So I will end up driving that far about 3 days out of 5.

There are actually three levels of pricing that a Safeway store could have depending on what area the store is in. So I don't think there is anyway to know for sure whether Safeway in your area will be cheaper or more expensive than Trader Joe's...If you live in an area where people generally make high incomes it might be safe to assume that Trader Joe's is cheaper.

Are you sure she understands what am and pm mean? If she thinks the world is flat, maybe she also missed how to tell time...
