  1. So sorry to hear this, Bill. Your father must have been an amazing person. Wishing you and yours peace and comfort. :grouphug:
  2. The only solution I found to the around the leg leaks was to switch to wool covers. Once we did that, we never had anymore issues. IMO, the PUL just doesn't hold up as well there for some reason, stress on the fabric, maybe? Anyway, I'd try wool before different diapers. I was scared to use it at first, but for us, it was the only way to prevent leaks consistently. It's easy, much easier than you think, and if you sew, you can upcycle old sweaters, etc very readily. I gave all my cd'ing stuff to my sis, or I'd offer it to you. :(
  3. I had this issue twice, TWICE! this week with the same item. Amazon was able to get it straightened out for me, with refund and adjusted shipping costs. Contact amazon.
  4. We've been drinking it for 2+ years now, and couldn't be happier. :)
  5. When I address my father, I call him "Papa," which is what I've called him all my life. When speaking of him, I call him by his first name. When I was little, I called my mother "Mama;" now my sibs and I call her "Mum."
  6. Ktgrok has worked with them, I believe. Try PMing her. Good luck, mama! :)
  7. If you have an app-gadget, Songza is a nice app for choosing the TYPE of music without having to specify the artists. :)
  8. "I know, right?" tops my list. I also dislike "man up" "git 'er done", and the local-to-me use "X needs done." For instance, "your shirt needs washed" or "my lawn needs mowed."
  9. I heard this last night, and this reminded me of it:

  11. Audio books work best for me. Music puts me to sleep. Stories give me something to focus on. Get an exciting one that will keep your heart rate going. I also don't drink coffee ordinarily, so when I buy it for road trips it works well for keeping me up. Good luck!
  12. You're secretly German! All hünde in Deutschland sind maskulin! All Katzen in Deutschland sind feminin! (My German teacher in high school used to say this, to my great amusement.)
  13. I loved Tennant, but I could.not.stand Rose. Liked Martha, enjoyed Donna, adored the Amy/Rory pair. I do truly like Smith, too. I'm willing to like Clara, but I don't think she's come into her own yet.
  14. I recommended this in another thread, but Partially Examined Life is a philosophy podcast with a pretty irreverent though intelligent approach. I have learned a lot from it, and enjoy their banter, as they're longtime friends.
  15. It's maybe a little embarrassing for me to admit this, but I find the Bene Gesserit mantra pretty helpful actually: I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  16. So sorry to hear this, Bill. Wishing for peace for everyone, but especially your dad. :grouphug: and love.
  17. My dds15 still share, and my middle ds and younger dd shared until they were 8 and 6, respectively.
  18. When my dc start dating, they can bring whoever they want home, whenever. My dds15 are not yet interested in dating, at least none of the boys they currently know. ;) I do honestly hope they do date a bit before they leave for college, if only so that they have family to come home to easily for comfort in the event of a breakup. That is an awkward sentence, but I can't think how to rephrase it tonight. :p sorry. ;)
  19. Morgan Freeman's part is fairly small compared to the length of the movie; if that's all you'd see it for,I recommend you don't bother. :)
