  1. I have no friends, and my mom is in the hospital at this time (mental illness). I have been reading from these forums for quite a while and have a lot of respect for your opinions. Finally to the questions: how do you feel about a vasectomy? Spiritually? Has your husband changed in any way after? My husband and I have been married 21 years, and we have 4 children. I am 40 and he is 46. My oldest son is 19, a daughter 14 (15 Oct. 1st), and 5 year old (son, daughter) twins. I have had 3 miscarriages, 1 in between each successful pregnancy. The last miscarriage was 4 years ago, and was extremely hard on me. I would love to have more children, but I know it is not a good idea for me at this stage in my life. My husband is the one wanting the vasectomy, and I am happy he does. However, I wonder if this will change him in any way, emotionally or mentally? Spiritually, we feel it is an individual thing, between that person and God. Any thoughts, experiences, been there done that, will be helpful. Thanks so much. Dawn
  2. These all sound fantastic. Thank you all so much. Finding what I was wanting was rather overwhelming, and these are perfect. Shopping is going to be so much fun now.
  3. Thank you. I have Paddle to the Sea. Are his other books like this one? I will take a closer look at them. I appreciate your response.
  4. I am looking for books to read to my 5 year old twins (boy and girl) at bedtime. I would like them to be longer than the average picture book, but have more illustrations than a chapter book. We have read: My Father's Dragon, The Hundred Dresses, The Wizard of Oz (beautifully illustrated by Charles Santore) and The Reluctant Dragon (illustrated by Inga Moore). I love books with beautiful illustrations, and we want a book we can anticipate and talk about throughout the day. There is probably a word for the type of books I am looking for, but I don't know it. I guess it could be called transitional, but we are not ready to quit our picture books by far. Thank you for all your help. I have learned so much from this forum, it is truly a blessing.
  5. My name is Dawn. I have 4 children: a 19 yo son in college, a 14 yo daughter in public school and 5 yo twins, a boy and girl that we are homeschooling. I have been reading and learning a lot from this forum for a while now, and finally feeling brave enough to post and ask some burning questions. Dawn
