  1. It is 10:16 p.m., and I'm not out of likes yet! :hurray:
  2. I haven't read the homeschooling consuming thread at all, but I agree with Lynn. We make a conscious decision to not enroll our children in public schools. So as parents we take on the role of the educators that would normally be teaching our children for 6-7 hours each day. Now I don't have school for that many hours each day, but I am only teaching two children. However, I take the responsibility of their education very seriously because this is the foundation upon which the rest of their lives will be built. This should consume most of my time because it is a very serious matter. It was my choice though, and for the most part, I enjoy it. Homeschooling is not the only thing that defines me, and it shouldn't, for anyone. But with anything I do, I want to do it well and be successful. We are not just speaking of our own success, however, but the success of our children. When we chose to have children, they become our focus. As parents every choice is made with their best interest at heart so they may be a benefit to society and make the world a better place. Parenthood is consuming. Homeschooling is a part of the whole. Just my thoughts. Like I said, I have not read the thread. I have been thinking of these things lately though. A BOOYA! This is the thread that never ends, etc.
  3. Good Morning! Coffee! ☕☕☕☕ I have internet! Yay! Our firmware or something like that needed updated. Still cleaning at mom's. The stand-up shower installation should be finished this evening. Then the bathroom will need a good cleaning. I have one more room to clean, my stepdad's electric train room. It is a disaster. I'm just going to sort the trash out and get the floor cleaned up the best I can. There are two other bedrooms I haven't cleaned, but I think I am done. We should have her moved tomorrow or Sunday. I have to go to the bank and grocery store. Have a Fantastic Day!
  4. Good Morning! Coffee! Waiting on Internet repair person. They were supposed to be here at 10am. I wish they would hurry up. I got things to do! And I actually feel like doing them. Kinda. Yay! For all the good things! I wish everyone good luck and success! Have a fabulous day!
  5. Good morning! Coffee! My internet is out. I'm ketchupping and posting on my phone. I don't like it. Everything is too small. I'm working more at mom's today. Ds22 is supposed to help. Yay! For critter! You have an amazing family! Hope everyone has a beautiful day!☀ï¸
  6. Good Morning! Coffee! ☕☕☕ More cleaning was accomplished yesterday: refrigerator and living room. I have to run to the post office and bank this morning. And the grocery store. Where can I get eclipse glasses? Have A Fabulous Day Everyone!
  7. I'm sitting on the porch enjoying the sounds of bugs and birds, watching the kitties nap and reading ITT. I'm trying to get geared up for another day of cleaning. The kitchen looked great with visible signs of progress so that is a great motivator. There is a coating of green moldy like stuff on the wooden furniture and cabinets that must be cleaned. I suppose it is from not being lived in for over a year. I discussed this situation with my brother (the one that never does anything, but expects a big meal when he visits) yesterday. I told him mom will have to go to a long term nursing facility if she is unable to live on her own. There is just not enough space in my home for another person. He understood and seemed supportive. I hope everyone is feeling better today. Get well soon wishes to Jean, tech support, Lana, Lynn's ds with the ear infection and anyone else feeling poorly. I'm a little excited to get mom settled so I can get my house in order and start planning. This is good because I haven't felt like being excited about much lately. Except books. I want to be happy about homeschooling and planning. I need to be. It is so important that we have a good year. This past year was mediocre. There was too many distractions, and we fell behind. Also, I wasn't in the mood or there wasn't time to do the fun stuff. Little ds needs the fun stuff. He learns better that way. I need something to give me purpose and motivation. I have company. My long drawn out rambling will have to end. :(
  8. We have the kitchen clean except the refrigerator. We were able to get two 55 gallon trash bags of trash out and numerous boxes for goodwill. This is just the kitchen, a 14x12 room. It took 2 of us 4 hours. Dd17 helped the last hour as well. iTired. Ima bed. More cleaning tomorrow. Have a good night and sweet dreams.
  9. I'm eating 1/2 of a store bought double chocolate muffin. It is yummy.
  10. Krissi, I believe I would buy a window unit and use it to cool one room until the a/c repair people can get there. Other it will be misery trying to sleep at night with those temperatures. I think you can get a small one at Wal-Mart for $100. I just checked prices they are more expensive than I thought.
  11. Good Morning! Coffee ☕☕☕ is being consumed with delight. I spent 4 hours in the Wal-Mart yesterday evening. I had to buy a mop, broom, various cleaning supplies, microwave, coffee pot, trash bags, vacuums. So basically all the stuff it takes to get a house ready to live in except groceries. I will do that the day before she moves back. Today we (hopefully I will have some help) will spend the day decluttering 20+ years of stuff. This is a job. I will be glad when it is over. Have a great day everyone!
  12. :grouphug: Jean. I'm sorry, and I hope you feel better soon.
  13. Good Morning! Coffee! Lynn, move. You can move closer to me. There is a house for sale not even a 1/4 of a mile away. And it is gorgeous. Expensive for this area, but beautiful and close to me. :D http://www.southernindianarealty.com/Crawford%20Residential.htm I'm no help with home decor. It is intimidating, and I don't think I'm good at it. I pick neutral colors that I like, and that's it. Done. A vasectomy is the way to go. 20 minutes in a doctor's office, a couple of days of rest, and that's it. Done. Chiggers are of the devil. Renai, those are some beautiful children. I finally ordered my Plum Paper planner last night, and a customized notebook for record keeping. So pretty. Now I will need those colored mechanical pencils and some nice pens. Have a Lovely Day, everyone!
  14. Hello, dear friends! I have missed you all. I have been busy. My mother has officially decided to go back to her house. I have mixed feelings about this, but it is her choice. She is in her right mind and able to make rational decisions. My goal is to get her house cleaned, some minor repairs done and have her settled by the end of the month. We have started, but there are many, many things yet to do. Now, I am making a declaration, and please remind me of this later when I need reminding: My mother will NOT come back to my house when/if she can not live independently. My family have priority, especially homeschooling. I refused to fail to give my children an education. I will NOT allow my time to be compromised. I am sure I will need to be reminded of this at some point. I'm relieved that there is finally an answer and a plan. I am ecstatic that I am getting my house back. However, I don't think she will do well on her own. This is the third or fourth time in the last 5 years she has been near death and recovered at my house, and each time there is a huge mess to clean up. At least we have a Plan, and we have started to implement The Plan. That is a relief in itself. I have missed y'all, and hope I have more time to ITT. Have a great day everyone.
  15. My likes are coming and going. I  you all. Happy Birthday  to Susan's Ds and Lynn's Dd.
  16. :grouphug: Slache. I'm sorry. I hope the tablet is ok.
  17. Plum Paper. Lana ordered one, and probably posted a link, which I why I am lovingly admiring them. https://www.plumpaper.com
  18. Good Evening! Y'all don't want to see my school plans. I want to do all the things. We are still debating about building on or mom going home, but a decision should be made in the next day or so. I am calming my anxiety by ITTing and contemplating the purchase of a plum planner. Dd17 took the littles to the library program. She sent me a picture of a baby timber wolf. They should be home soon. I need a schedule. Mostly for cleaning and chores for children. I think I need to do a serious declutter then get on a cleaning schedule. I need a planner for that, right?
  19. Season 3 airs on PBS in October, I believe. Yep, October 1, 2017.
  20. Absolutely! I love the Caroline/Dr. Enys storyline too. There are a series of books this show is based upon by Winston Graham if you have any extra time. Who has extra time, right? But I thought they were very beautifully written, and there are many more details than the tv show, of course. What season/episode are you on?
