  1. thanks for the comments. I thought this would be a huge jump, but wasn't quite sure. I havent' seen the text yet. I will likely hold onto it while we do a different math program for sixth. Thanks again
  2. To all who may be of help. I have a daughter finishing up her 5th grade year and Math u See Zeta. Can anyone tell me if they think it would be to big of a jump to go into Chalkdust pre-Algebra starting 6th grade. If so, what would you suggest we try. I definately want to use Chalkdust pre-algebra, but I don't know if I should start so soon, and If I don't, what I should use to transition. The reason I would use CD pre-algebra instead of basic math is that I have just purchased a used pre-algebra and don't really want to spend the money for the basic math. Any suggestions Adrienne
  3. Can someone tell me how many lessons there are to watch with this program and approx. how long each lesson/video is? Thanks, adrienne
  4. Rod and Staff English Math U See (so far delta-zeta) Lively Latin These are so easy to implement. No prep time needed. Thorough. Dd learns a lots from them.
  5. There is a good chance my 5th grader will be going back to public school for 6th grade in the fall. I'm thinking about using IEW SWI-B with her starting this summer, but will likely go into the new public school year. I'm curious how I will need to schedule this. It will help to know what others schedule using SWI looks like. Adrienne
  6. Mostly what all the other posters have said. Logical, affordable, easy to implement, easy to understand, can be done orally (for that reason my daughter likes it even more). My daughter retains the information. It is the only curriculum that I've stuck with without second thoughts, and I have been through a good share of curricula. Adrienne
  7. Thanks Luna. I guess It would be nice to have several samples of writing on hand to use as reference and analyzing for learning purposes.
  8. If anyone has seen this book, can you tell me how it is layed out? From the website it looks as if it only consist of writing prompts and sample writings. Does it include any instruction? Thanks in advance, Adrienne
  9. Thanks. I should have asked that question a long time ago.
  10. Does anyone know if there is a way to bookmark or flag a particular thread that you feel has valuable information and may want to come back to it at a later time?
  11. I will not be buying the book. I'm happy with printing the pages and making bracketed folders for them. I don't print the answer key, I just look online to check her work. Anyways, my bookshelves are so full. That's one less thing I have to place.
  12. I got one today and while puzzled, was trying to think of a welcome response. Glad I did nothing. I'll forward mine as well to admins.
  13. sent my last message to quick. Sorry that movie brought you such unsettling thoughts.
  14. Thanks for mentioning. I love tear jerkers and will put this in my netflix queue.
