  1. I am feeling very :(. It really stinks!! The housing market down that way is not exactly a buyers market. Very slim pickings. This is the second time a house we like has gone under contract. DH may just end up living in the Holiday Inn Express a few more months. Back to looking,
  2. The kids and I bought dh a 2 ft tall Tyrone last year. He was hooked after watching the viking episode. I have gotten the riding the range tune stuck in my head a day or two!
  3. It has been a blessing for us. Having everything in one spot, and how it is all interrelated. It works for us since my three are all four years apart. I like having the teachers notes to look at, and I am learning right along with the kids. I plan on using IEW for writing in the near future, but TOG does cover that along with history, geography, church history, literature, art projects. Anyway we love it.:)
  4. The house has had new plumbing in all the bathrooms, new wiring, new septic system, new lighting, several floors rebuilt, wiring replaced. The exterior has been refinished and sealed, and the interior all new paint. The owner is replacing the roof. It is a beautiful craftsman type house, original windows, working shutters, sleeping porch. It is not in a neighborhood which is the downside, we are walking back through it tomorrow along with some newer homes. Dh and I love the house, we hope the kids can warm up to it.
  5. We have experienced various things at my parents house. At times things have happened in our home. But we relate it to they came for a visit. And until it does happen and you experience it's hard to explain. They (my parents) use to be reenactors, apparantly they have brought others home with them. My dad has an office, and they wouldn't let me in the office. There is no lock on the door, and I couldn't get in. I had to knock on the door and ask if I could come in. We would smell horses, cigar smoke, coffee brewing, hay, aftershave. At times there would be music and the sound of cannon fire of in the distance. Anyway that's our experience. Heather
  6. But we are moving towards the SC coast when we find a home!
  7. We are considering an older home that has been completely remodeled, built in 1905. We have four pages of items that the owner has repaired, reworked, refinished. It is extensive. The house is beautiful. Anyway, what do you love/hate about your house? Thanks!
  8. I'm similar to Jennifer, as far as weight and height. 5'4", 139. When I was working I got down to 126. I didn't eat from 2-12 except for dinner and that wasn't anything exciting. I am now surrounded by kid food! Maybe my kids should be healthier too. Anyway, I would like to exercise more and be more diligent about eating habits.
  9. Wow Pamela, thanks for all of the links! I will have to look at those! Thanks!
  10. Lots of moms at our church go through this book with their daughters, Girl Talk. http://www.sovereigngracestore.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=B3060-00-11 I plan to when my dd is older.
  11. I will miss Grey's Anatomy. However we are loving Meerkat Manor, and other shows on Animal Planet.
  12. I worked full time last year and homeschooled , not a good mix. I tried flex time over the summer, too complicated with finding childcare. Have contemplated doing some sort of party thing, not sure if I'm that personable. What do you do? Thanks for playing!
  13. I've got 15 that could go! And what is spark people, maybe I should go look!:)
  14. Why did the elephant paint his toenails red? To hide in the cherry tree! That's all I got!
  15. With moving soon I would like to create one so that our friends and grandparents here can see whats happening. Do you fill in a template? I'm not all that computer savvy, lucky to be able to e-mail. And I had no idea what an avatar was until I came here. Thanks!
  16. I have looked through the Rainbow Resource catalog and nothing jumped out at me. Got any ideas? Something a little in depth as to the hows and whys. Thanks! Heather
  17. My 6 dd is doing really well with it, worth the $$.
  18. I have always followed whatever the lesson book or what not has stated. I feel I need to have more specific, tailored goals for *our* family. And I am not a planner so this is all new territory and overwhelming! Thanks for the great ideas! This should be fun!
  19. I have homeschooled for six years and have never really planned or set long range goals. I am feeling the need to do that with two going at it and a preschooler not far behind. What do you use as guides? As far as where your child should be. Or do you just say "we need to get such and such done in this amount of time"? I have never really worried about it but I will have a sixth grader and I don't want to flub up the next six years with him. I need some structure and not sure where to begin. Does that make any sense? Thanks!
