  1. Covenant Classical in Concord allows/did allow homeschoolers to participate on sports teams while we were there.
  2. We switched this year to Math U See. My daughter will be 8 and has struggled with patterns, place value and basic facts. MUS has been a tremendous help with the visual and hands on approach. She now has something concrete to equate numbers and operations with. We came to the conclusion that she had math related issues due to the fact that she struggles greatly with patterns. Basic repeating patterns, skip counting, time, and money. Anything that had a sequential pattern. And her basic math fact retention is slim to none. She is finally beginning to understand place value. MUS has worked wonders for her.
  3. They aren't shipping until August, reprinting the text. We are in the process of reprinting several of our books! As a result, we are accepting orders for, but will not be shipping, The Rainbow until August 1. We will be working this summer to prepare for a mass shipment at that time. We will, however, be fulfilling orders for Bridge Math and The Spectrum Chemistry during this time. Thank you!
  4. Congrats on the baby! Jane told us!

  5. Hope you are doing well!

  6. I would paint the front door, get some flowers out there. Place some pots on the steps with some bright flowers or even some window boxes. You could also add some some shutters to the front windows to make those stand out. Black shutters, red front door, lots of flowers. The inside is very cute. You can plant some shrubs, go to you local nursery with a picture of the exterior and ask them for some suggestions on plants to spruce up the front.
  7. My now 7dd used Headsprout last year and it helped greatly with her reading. She did all 80 lessons and then we moved onto Explode the Code. She is finishing up book 6 now. It was well worth it for us.
  8. It has to do with something in their end user licensing agreement about not reselling digital media. From Marcia; What you are buying is a license to use DE software (and content), which then in turn enables you to print copies. To protect copyright holders (since technically you could print thousands of copies) we have to limit the software and its printed copies to the original purchaser. Blessings, Marcia Also the disc is only useable on one computer. The DE is why we are no longer TOGging.
  9. Oriental Trading has paper crafts and craft kits for kids.
  10. Yes, it has a workbook and a literature selection.
  11. I have the one for middlers. The program itslef looks great, and the workbook is doable. I was wondering if there were any other ideas out there.
  12. Does anyone know of or have lesson plans for chess? I have a workbook that I could follow, but wanted to see if anyone knew of something else. Thanks!
  13. You have to have property taxes paid in order to get a license.
  14. Prices are also set according to the profit margin for certain products. They make money on some items, and others they break even.
  15. I was always paranoid when I got my notice in the mail every year. Then someone finally said I didn't have to send it in. I also knew of several first year homeschoolers who got request to meet at the library to go over curriculum choices. Sneaky is right!
