  1. I assumed "wile" because I pronounce while more like wahll. Never occured to me that the phrase could be using the word "while"
  2. I haven't read them in years but my whole family loved The Warriors series by Erin Hunter. If you scored the whole series you could label them clearly with the order. Might encourage trading. "This is the first in a series. After you read it bring it back to this little library and look for the next in the series."
  3. These don't feel like gifts because they have made them into obligations. Now it's about you doing things for them. I honestly would give up these "gifts". "It is such a generous offer but I can't deal with it now so I'll need to pass." These really are "offers" not gifts.
  4. For book club I read The Age of Innocence. I liked it a lot but it took forever to finish! It made for a good discussion even for those who didn't like it
  5. I'm not who you quoted but I loved West With Giraffes! It was well liked by my book club too
  6. Many (hugs) It's impossible not to be anxious in these times. It's all so overwhelming. Close to home makes it even more so.
  7. I am totally fine with people not knowing things. No one can know everything. It does bother me though when people don't want to know things to the point of thinking it doesn't even matter.
  8. I keep thinking this thread must be about creating questions for people over fifty... What was life like in the 1900s? Did you have a Cabbage Patch doll? What is your opinion of The Bay City Rollers? *waddles away and quietly closes the door behind myself*
  9. Sickening. Gruesome. They planned for two weeks? So evil. I hate the thought of the victim going through the attack as her last living moments
  10. Elementary Eta I didn't like the first few episodes but ended up really liking it
  11. Hmm. I'll need to look it up for my state. Afaik, it's still pass on the left, slow traffic stays right etc.
  12. Now that you say that, I have noticed it more especially on smaller streets. On highways (eta maybe expressway is the correct term? Many lanes driving 65 in the same direction) I notice more and more people passing on the right when there's plenty of space to pass correctly.* Maybe it isn't new drivers but people who haven't tested in decades and have bad habits? *Eta: the rule where I live is/was? pass on the left
  13. I once tried transitions but they were very heavy compared to my regular lenses
  14. http://www.stunningexpressions.com/watermelon-goat-cheese-appetizer/ I like these watermelon and goat cheese appetizers Eta: I do cubes instead of cylinders
  15. Dh cycles and found ones that fit over his glasses on Amazon. (I'll try to get a link but it'll be later)
  16. If kid is at all anxious...no If the kid is confident... probably If someone would use it against you...no 10:30 isn't all that late for having him at someone's house for the evening
  17. I don't think I have the energy to try this recipe but it sounds amazing: honey butter grilled cheese with jalapeno relish 🤤 https://www.plantoeat.com/blog/2023/04/honey-butter-grilled-cheese-with-jalapeno-relish/
  18. April 12 is National Grilled Cheese Day! https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-grilled-cheese-sandwich-day-april-12/
  19. I googled: money cup challenge Is that maybe similar to what they're asking about?
  20. I couldn't find a link but I've seen videos of games that are just for prizes. Things like: bags taped to the end of a table and you roll a ball and get the prize marked on the bag. Or similar: taped lines on a table and each section is a different prize that you get if you slide a puck? Coin? And it lands there.
  21. The flour game seems fun: https://www.thegamegal.com/2018/11/15/penny-in-the-flour/#:~:text=To play%2C players take turns,Eventually the penny will fall. I've seen something similar with adding water to a cup trying not to be the one who overflows the cup.
