  1. Have you tried cutting out dairy? I cannot tell you the difference this has made for me in the past several months. Huge reduction in mucous! So far this spring, I have not had to take any Zyrtec, nasal sprays (Q Var worked really well until the nosebleeds started and it is also very expensive until we meet our deductible), or anything else. I also got through the winter without bronchitis or sinus infections. I know how miserable you are because I felt that way from the time I was a small child. I hope you find some relief fast!
  2. Yes, I would. Music is one of the ways I pray/worship best. But I have a lot of choices where I live and it may be easier for me to find a church that meets my expectations. I happen to really love the music at my church and along with everything else I find there, I am very happy to call it home. Good luck with your decision!
  3. I am so very sorry for you! I will keep you in my prayers! :grouphug: :grouphug:
  4. Google epigenetics. There are a lot of fascinating articles out there and those who think these "markers" on our genes can be changed by our various lifestyle choices.
  5. Thanks for sharing the document! It will be helpful for my dc as well!
  6. I came out as being 72% left brained. I didn't realize it was that strong but may explain why I have such a difficult time with my artsy, creative dd!
  7. This was recommended to me by two different individuals. I don't know how long it will be available online to watch. It is about these boys with various LD's at this private school and how they go about learning to recite the Gettysburg Address. I really enjoyed watching it and would love to know what types of curriculum and resources they use with these kids. I know there is no way my ds would ever be able to attend a school like this, partly due to his IQ being on the low side but also because the expense is huge. I would also miss him way too much to send him away to school! But I thought it was fascinating to watch how they worked with these boys. It's a Ken Burns film on PBS. Anyhow, I thought I would pass it on http://www.greenwood.org/
  8. My ds did that a few years ago and it was a great introduction to keyboarding for him. He has dysgraphia so it was a must for him. Glad it is working so well for your dc!
  9. Is his wife still with him? I can only imagine the help she needs but she's probably in pretty deep as well. It's all just so awful!
  10. Wow, this sounds so cool! I wish I would have had this for my ds14 when he was younger. He was eventually diagnosed with dyscalculia among other things. He still has an occasional day when he has NO CLUE how many times 6 can go into 8 or similar types of issues. Currently doing TT6. And my ds also had no idea when he was around 9 or so how many toes he had, either! His SLP made him take off his shoes and socks and count. The only one of all my kids who didn't know that without specifically being told how to figure it out. Good luck to you and your little guy!
