  1. Personally I just use the book: http://m.bookdepository.com/Complete-Chemistry-for-Cambridge-IGCSE-with-CD-ROM-Ingram/9780199138784 But one can enroll here: http://www.oxfordhomeschooling.co.uk/subject/chemistry-igcse-course/
  2. Ships bookdepository free to canada? I buy there the studentbooks, and once in a while I order the Teacher materials at CBD.com BJU books are also good available secondhanded at Alibris.com I bought this way their math texts Cheap.
  3. I vote for: 8filltheheart naninmass lori D. Although I don't think it will be able to meet each other in 'real time'. So one waiting here for the recordings...
  4. MP Poetry seems a good idea! And normally they will put him at 'age' so grade 3 / groep 5 if he will be enrolled for summer vacation. After the 'summer' it would be grade 4 / groep 6.
  5. I use the Ikea Trofast serie for art, science and technic ed. Supplies I use bookcases for books and binders I own from both a lot...
  6. We will be with one leg in grade 9 next year, and as we live in Belgium our 'look' looks different. To keep it comparable I just mention the subjects you named with our options. English: The Elegant Essay, Windows to the World, Introduction to Poetry Math: Art of Problem Solving Science: BJU Physical Science with IGCSE Chemistry Geography&History: BJU Foreign Language: French, German, Latin, Greek Arts: Annotated Arch, History of Rock Music, attending academy of Fine Arts, Folksdance I don't know the titels you mention.
  7. We use for middle school a creationistic lifescience, skipped their evolution chapter, and will use in Highschool a secular Biology with a solid evolution chapter. BJU Lifescience has a chapter about evolution, but is was not wat we were looking for.
  8. Memoria Press is available through Amazon.com and www.bookdepository.co.uk MCT is difficult to get here, so is LL, something like Beast Academy can become expensive. Conquest books UK and Ichtus Resources UK have several homeschool items.
  9. You can buy pretty save at www.bookdepository.co.uk and www.alibris.co.uk. Www.amazon.de has free shipping, www.amazon.fr has some shippin like a few eurocents. Your dc wil get history, geography, nature and technical education during grade 4-5-6. It will learn English from grade 5 ;) You can take a look here for history: http://entoen.nu/en and here for Topography: Www.toporopa.eu Let him watch 'Klokhuis' and 'Jeugdjournaal' a lot, if he wants to start already let him watch Dutch school tv. Www.schooltv.nl Bookprices are fixed in the Netherlands, and therefore expensive. So English reading books are cheaper then Dutch Ones. If you would avoid expensive shippings take your curriculum from small publishers with you. These got high custom charges above the price AND the shippings.
  10. We did in grade 4-5-6 one 'round' of history, mostly Dutch history. I think grade 7-8-9 will be another round using American textbooks. Grade 10-11-12 will be focused on the exit exam program using: IB 20th Century World History An Epic History of Congo Belgium, a history without Country In Europe Maybe adding some British history, and some history around persons of interest, focus will be 19th/20th century. We will cover the history of the Dutch Indies through literature. History is 'just' 2h per week, Geography is another 2h per week, Grade 7/8 = Belgian Geography Grade 9/10 = World Geography Grade 11/12 = Earth and Space Science We have no transcripts, and our graduation requirements = passing the 12th grade exams from your track
  11. DIVE is the DVD/CD teaching serie along several Apologia / BJU texts. ICP is Integrated Chemistry and Physics. BJU Physical Science can be considered as ICP if I'm well informed. It is also their grade 9 text.
  12. With one leg in grade 8, and another leg in grade 9/10 next year will probably look like this: Grade 8: German: Grammatik - Ganz Klar, Groses Ubungbuch Deutsch - Wortschatz, reading books in German Greek: hesitating between Stathmoi or Thalassa both Flemish Textbooks Latin: Phoenix French: Practical Grammar, Activites pour A2, A mots Contes, Lectures Thematique, BtB, SYRWTLF 3, reading books in French (exam) Introduction to Technical Education ( exam) Grade 9: math: AoPS Intro A, Statistics, Dutch: Www.lezenvoordelijst.nl , www.literatuurgeschiedenis.nl, reading books in Dutch science: BJU Physical Science icw IGCSE Chemistry History&Geography: BJU english: word wealth, TEE, WttW, Introduction to Poetry, reading books in English Other: History of Rock Music, MP Logic, Annotated Arch, Civics. Attending academy of fine arts, folkdance, in search of a piano teacher Faith of our Fathers: the Belgic Confession
  13. We started EG 1 with my 12yo this January, and the pace is too slow for us. I am still using it because I know I can get this done, and we have still several exams to pass and I can't have a too heavy plate right now. So we do one week of EG in the first half of the week, and a more Athenaze type of text in the second half. I expect we will change to the Flemish textbook completely by Fall or so.
  14. French is required here, but dds motivation was seriously lacking last year, so we switched to Subjects in French too. ( I was inspired by the CM in French thread) We use Lectures Thematique fromd Hachette and A Mots Conte from Belin. For the Lectures I am in need of a TM as my French is terrible. A mots Conte inspired dd to ask if I could buy a French book as she wanted to read the whole story. I also bought Speech, a game to practice (story) telling.
  15. According to some theories a 'best' night sleep is a multiply of 90 minutes. In that case 7,5 hours fits better
  16. Being ill this week, so low reading results. The week before I became Ill I read 'The Lady with the Camelias' from Alexandre Dumas Fils ( in Dutch) And I recieved :'Longbourn' it was mentioned earlier this year. I love it...!!! :) I am reading slow, but glad I managed to read something in English again... DD and DH are now ill, so I have only snippets of time to read.
  17. I love your shakespeare mug!!DH would not like it though. We are buying a collection of bird mugs ( everytime I break a mug, I buy another bird) and I think DH would alse like mugs with real flowers, not the 'girly' one
  18. The same problem here, I don't see anything related to PM anymore. It is just missing. And I just cleaned my PM box as far as I remember. I've been troubled too with mistakenly banned. Could the cause be in that direction?
  19. In Belgium the Polio vaccin is required. It is a reason for prison or leaving the country ( when you are foreigner) With homeschooling you also leave the belgian medical screenings and vaccinations system at school, so it is up to you to keep you vaccinations up to date.
  20. DH got chickenpox as adult. He felt terrible, but no other problems
  21. This is what came into my mind too. We are working through the Heidelberger this year and are just starting the third section. After the Heidelberger we will use this: http://www.reformedfellowship.net/life-in-christ-books.htm For the other forms of unity. From my context it is 'typically reformed' so I'm not sure it will help the OP
  22. For German we use: http://www.amazon.de/Grammatik-Übungsgrammatik-A1-B1-Deutsch-Fremdsprache-interaktive/dp/3190515557/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1423645417&sr=1-1&keywords=grammatik+ganz+klar http://www.amazon.de/Großes-Übungsbuch-Deutsch-Marion-Techmer/dp/319201721X/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_z And reading books in German.
