  1. Fleas are horrible! I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I agree with above posts...it will take a few weeks, vacuum (and vacuum!) at least daily, it will look worse before it’s better, possibly treat outdoors. Vacuum pet bedding daily too! The absolute best thing we’ve used is Nexgard. It’s an oral medication and works better than anything we’ve ever tried. Good luck!
  2. I like good chocolate. My favorites are Green & Black’s milk chocolate with almonds, G&B 70% cacao dark, and Godiva truffles. I also like a harder-to-find (for me) that’s a Lake Champlain Dark w Cherries. My kids like good chocolate too, and it’s a treat to get a full sized G&B bar in their stockings. :) Starbucks GC Loofah Nice soap Bubble bath Lip gloss/moisturizer Stamps and stationery Pens Flashlights
  3. I love when I have leftover roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes to eat cold for breakfast the next day. I love cold roasted veggies!
  4. Thank you! I’ll sign up because I haven’t done that. Also, I did see that 40% off pop-up, but kind of overlooked it since I need 3 items. But I didn’t notice the 30% off anyway, so I’ll check that out!
  5. Well, with October coming to a close, I've started kinda-sorta shopping for Christmas. I don't normally shop from these two stores, but they have some pjs I'm interested in, but the price! :svengo: So my question is, do they regularly (or ever) have %-off sales for pjs that I should wait for? My normal problem is waiting too long and then the store runs out of the size(s) I need. So, I'm trying to shop early, but I don't really want to pay the early full prices. So, should I buy now with full size selection? Or wait for a sale? Thanks!
  6. I’m with you on that! Although, mine take it one embarrassing step further and say Minecraft. Lol
  7. I would say it’s probably the exercise. My girl with separation anxiety still gets her Kong *every.single.time* we leave, even though she has been doing great for over a year. I think that 10-15 minutes of distraction just helps, along with the routine of it. Mom gives me this yummy treat, leaves, then comes back. :) Good luck! I’ve been there (and posted here about it). I think once you get her back into her routine, she’ll revert back to the desired behavior again, especially since she has displayed it already.
  8. Yes! Cowboys game for me too! I can’t remember a Thanksgiving where the game wasn’t on in the background...some people watching, some people just in the same room chatting. Love it. Also, dressing (aka stuffing). My favorite Thanksgiving food ever. :)
  9. I prefer the Molly. It looks cleaner, less like a Mom bag, and overall just less fussy ?? maybe. I agree that the pockets on the Melinda make it a little diaper bag-ish. I would never consider the Melinda though simply bc it only has a snap closure. That would be a deal breaker for me.
  10. My favorite tradition that we started several years ago is to read a bunch of Christmas/winter themed books starting in December. Most are beautiful picture books, and many we read every single year...and just like that, a tradition is born! I got my lists from different places, and if we tried a book and loved it, I’d purchase it to have for the next year. I agree with other PP that all you really need to do is to do something you actually enjoy, and repeat year after year for it to become a tradition and memory. :) Popcorn and movie every Thanksgiving night (same movie), sleep on the family room floor together every Christmas Eve, Pad Thai every Halloween night, donuts for breakfast on Christmas morning....really, just whatever your family enjoys! ETA: And don’t worry about the Martha Stewarts in your life. I love that I can come up with my OWN traditions for MY nuclear family, and it doesn’t have to be like anyone else’s!
  11. I wasn’t around back then, but I truly appreciate these boards being available once I needed some homeschooling resources and advice. Thank you! And happy birthday to Emily!
  12. Listening in, as I have some too just sitting. I’m thinking of trying mine in an easy Spicy Thai noodles recipe I have on Pinterest. It calls for 1/4 c peanut butter, but I thought I could sub the cashew butter. http://lifemadesimplebakes.com/2015/03/20-minute-spicy-thai-noodle-bowls/
  13. Benadryl by mouth helps a lot. Of course, if it makes you sleepy like it does me, I’d only take it at bedtime. But it does help!
  14. I think it makes perfect sense to want the colors you don’t have! ;) BUT, I did buy white Fiesta ware. :) My buffet plates are different colors, but my dinner plates, bowls, saucers, and mugs are white. I was really, really wanting white dishes and I love them! The colored buffet plates did make me feel like I was really making use of the colors of fiesta ware though. Lol
  15. We did IEW for two years, then very briefly tried Writing Strands (DS hated it), then moved on to Essentials in Writing. It was (still is) a great fit, just as many posters had recommended to me back then. It’s incremental, short and doable chunks, short videos, and clear expectations of what is expected each day. It’s exactly the style my DS likes. :) We are on our second year with it and still liking it so far.
  16. Sounds like several buffet or luncheon plates are exactly what you need. Fortunately, you can buy those a la cart. Right now Kohl’s has 30% off, which is where (and when!) I buy the buffet plates. They’re bigger than saucers, smaller than dinner plates. Perfect! ETA: We are a family of five. Last year (after posting here 😊) I bought 8 of the Fiesta Bistro 3-piece sets and 8 of the Tapered Mugs. Since then, I’ve added 8 buffet plates, which pretty much makes everything just right. ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
  17. Harney & Sons. Free shipping AND pretty tins. :) My favorites are the Coconut Green and Blueberry Green.
  18. I really like Caroline Graham’s books.
  19. Yes! That’s exactly what I was trying to say in my post. Seems we had similar experiences in that. ;)
  20. I’m going to agree with going about your usual, with side things that would be ok, even if it’s just a roll. I’m going to give my opinion as the gf who was picky when I was dating my now DH. I always felt uncomfortable when my (now) MIL went out of the way for me at meals. I was vegetarian then, and it was just so awkward for me to have something extra done. Nice of her, sure, but I’d prefer it to not have been done. In your chicken fajitas example, I would have MUCH rather quietly eaten a tortilla with butter with NOBODY commenting at all. So I say make your usual, and make no comments at all about it. I agree with PP that if she’s picky, she’s quite used to not enjoying every meal served. :)
  21. That’s a cute idea! I’d try Etsy. I was looking for a specific kind of tree skirt last year and they had the best selection. I didn’t end up buying one from there, but the choices were good.
  22. Not a support group, but she could look into getting some counseling from the unit's Military Family Life Counselor. It could help her depression and coping skills during the deployment.
