  1. Wordle 346 3/6 ⬜⬜🟨🟨⬜ 🟨🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  2. Monday: Breakfast - honey nut cheerios with almond milk Lunch - leftover meatloaf with grapes Snack: DD drove around a parking lot to practice parking for half an house, which was right next to culvers, so... mini Reese's concrete mixer Dinner - last of the meatloaf and sugar snap peas
  3. Wordle 345 3/6 ⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟨🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. Sunday: Breakfast - Youngest wanted hash brown waffles this morning, so I made them for her and me. And some breakfast sausage links. Lunch - leftovers (fish & corn & carrot sticks & salad) Dinner - meatloaf and strawberries I popped some chocolate chips and some cashews throughout the day.
  5. I don't expect we'll have enough to retire on until close to 70 (I voted 67-69, but a lot can change in 20+ years). I am currently working 2 part time jobs, but when children graduate (3-4 years), I'll probably find 1 full time job. I'll be 50ish.
  6. Yeah, that one was tough. Wordle 344 5/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  7. Saturday: Breakfast - eggs & sausage Lunch - hot dog and the gluten free mac n cheese my DD didn't eat Dinner - cauliflower crust pizza
  8. She is on prescription iron (well, prescribed but over the counter). Her iron levels had come up for a while, and they knocked her back to 1 pill a day about a year ago. She's due for another check with that prescriber soon, so I'll make sure to have them check it. She uses period panties, but still uses a disposable pad or tampon with them. Cloth is an option to explore - she tried sewing her own a couple of times, but hasn't made any recently.
  9. Any ideas on how to find an alternative practitioner who is good? Her pediatrician actually is really good and knowledgeable about teen menstruation, but she's kind of at a loss too. Like the Everlywell test? Or is there another one? She has noticed that switching to almond milk in her cereal did lessen the diarrhea and bloating a little, but she hasn't cut it out completely. I actually bought this last month, but she hasn't tried it yet. She's 16, almost 17. Thanks, everyone! Lots to think about and try. I feel so helpless every month! FWIW, I had super bad cramping and bleeding (was fibroids), and both of her grandmothers had endometriosis. So, any of these could be a factor.
  10. A different DD has migraines and abdominal migraines. So this may be an avenue to pursue; thanks!
  11. She will be. It'll just take some time and recuperation. Thanks for asking.
  12. Obviously, we'll be talking to the gynecologist, but anyone have any great ideas? DD has horrible periods. She vomits, faints (she has POTS, but she will always pass out during the first 2 days of her period), diarrhea, and severe cramps. Since her POTS has stabilized with the right med mix, we've started focusing on fixing/ameliorating the periods, so far we're 0 for 2. To make matters more complicated, I carry the BRCA gene, so anything with estrogen is out. She had the nexplanon implanted in December. It worked like a charm the first period. Second month, she passed out a couple of times. 3rd month, she was passing out so much, she reverted to using her wheelchair. We had it removed at the end of March. Long story about why it took so long - but that was the first available to get it removed. Her fainting/dizziness/general POTS symptoms stopped within a week of having it removed. Because of this, she refuses to try the Depo shot because there is nothing to remove if it goes horribly awry. She went on the minipill in early April. Only a little bit of cramp relief, but no vomiting and no fainting, so plus I guess. However, it caused a severe mental health crisis. So she has come off of that. IUD? Any non hormonal options? Anything else?
  13. Eh, mixed bag. Thanks for asking. 2 youngest are still covid free - although one went into the hospital last night for an unrelated reason. Oldest DD has cleared covid. She is doing well. I have technically cleared covid, but I am downright exhausted. Back to work, and barely able to function - it's like I'm moving through molasses. Spending 7 hours at the ER with DD last night did not help matters. DH is still testing positive, although he says he feels better this morning. Still coughing up a storm though, but his oxygen level is above 95 consistently.
  14. Brain not firing on all cylinders, but I pulled it out: Wordle 343 5/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟨 🟨⬜⬜🟨🟨 🟨🟨⬜⬜🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  15. Yay for Aldi! Boo on gas prices! And finally, I hate, hate, hate that when you miss the deal and the company is a putz and won't help you out.
  16. Catching up - it's been a really, really, really stressful end of week here. Post covid fatigue and a DD admitted to the hospital Wednesday: Breakfast - eggs ( I drizzled a little maple syrup on them - I like them that way) Lunch - paleo waffle Dinner - sloppy joe meat on a sweet potato Probably ate a piece of cake on this day as well Thursday: Breakfast - maybe it was honey nut cheerios with almond milk? Lunch - between jobs, so hardboiled egg, some turkey, carrot sticks & sugar snap peas Dinner - BBQ chicken in the crockpot Friday: Breakfast - honey nut cheerios with almond milk Rest of the day was a blur: downed a piece of danish while at work, scooped a chunk of leftover buttercream while getting ready for ER trip, some nuts I found in a container in the bottom of my purse while sitting in the ER, and some chips from the bag of chips from her hospital dinner while we waited for her room

  18. That wasn't coming easy, but all of a sudden it jumped in my head. Wordle 341 3/6 🟨🟨🟨⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟨🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

  20. I tested negative this morning, so I came out to cook and do some laundry mainly. Kids have been doing a good job, but they were a little overwhelmed. So, Tuesday: Breakfast - honey nut cheerios with almond milk Lunch - paleo chicken fingers and grapes and carrot sticks Snack - cashews Dinner - tilapia (thumbs up from the 4 who tried it) and "frozen fruit" (a frozen strawberry/banana/peach thingee I keep in the freezer for the summer) Dessert - Youngest who has been cooking was excited to get back to baking, so vanilla gluten free cake with an ombre effect buttercream - Yum!
  21. My initial positive was last Thursday, but I've been symptomatic since Friday the 13th. Edit: Dh's initial positive was also last Thursday, symptomatic on the same day.
  22. I finally tested negative today; DH is still showing positive and is symptomatic. Is it safe for me to travel from quarantine room & back or will I pass it to my still showing negative on the test kiddos?
  23. I think they gave Paxlovid to her since she is still recovering from surgery. She only had symptoms for about a day. DH did get sick after me; I got sick about 3-5 days before anyone else. He does say that it isn't much worse than a bad sinus infection, but he sounds pretty bad. He's working from home for the time being. We've all been holed up in the master bedroom area since Friday to try to keep them negative, and they did just have their boosters about a month ago.
  24. I'm negative today!! I'm going to get some cooking done before I return to work tomorrow. DD has very few symptoms: she's on Paxlovid. DH still sounds very congested/bad cough. Other two kiddos still hanging out in negative land. Have to get more tests today, since we're going through at least 2 a day to check the negative ones. Ordered kids' online classes next year. Ack! Lots of $$ out the door, but I can't teach foreign language and older decided to take chemistry there as well.
