Decision made - DD will be attending Coe College in the fall. She was accepted as a direct admit into the Nursing program, so she won't have to apply after sophomore year. I am currently switching gears from "where do you think you want to go?" and "have you done your applications?" to "Aaack! I need to plan for you leaving in the fall!"

Librarian also comes to mind. Librarian is more often than not a second career, so ageism isn't as much of a thing. Not a lot of salary, but you could walk right in to a front desk job or possibly a child's programmer. Restarting is tough - I happened to run across an ad for my local library needing a part-time bookkeeper, and I stepped back into the working world about 15 years after I left. I was an accountant in my former work life, so bookkeeping was up my alley.
