  2. Thanks! I didn’t know about common sense media. Will check it out. appropriate for me would be no sex scene. occasional curse word is fine. Just not on every other paragraph. she has read only one Stephen king book.
  3. Hi! does anyone know if the author HP Lovecraft is appropriate for a 12 yo girl? My daughter wants to read books by him. I’m thinking it’s not appropriate. She is saying that a few of his books are. thanks.

  7. Well, I don't know about a list, but I can tell you that we started FLL and WWE when they were capable. FLL 1 was done orally and generally done around 5 yo. WWE was done in first grade. Sometimes orally - just depended on the kid and time. I skipped the copywork (and if there was dictation) suggested in FLL because there was a lot of copywork in WWE. We didn't do OPGTR. For readers at that age I used the following: American Language Readers Set Nora Gaydos books (may be out of print) You read to me, then I'll read to you series Elephant and Piggie series tons of stuff from the library Hth!
  8. Oh, I'm so sorry. Praying for his safety and that he comes home soon.
  9. My daughter’s friend was sick for about a week. Then it came back a week later - worse. She had to go on antibiotics. during this second round she was sick, her younger sister got sick. She was sick with a horrible cough/congestion for at least 2 weeks. then their younger brother got sick. Was in the hospital with flu complications for five days. so, my best guess is two weeks. Hope he feels better.
  10. I went to the mall yesterday and I did notice more people wearing a mask than say when I was there in the same spot in early November.
  11. It took me a week to get adjusted. I hope it goes well for you.
  12. I'm so sorry. What you said was beautiful. I'm glad you guys made up. Take some time off for yourself. Sending hugs.
  13. Wow! That’s pretty neat! Thanks for sharing!
  14. The more the merrier! Especially with siblings! I always bought in bulk. 😂
  15. Thanks! No, I’m not following the other thread. It does make sense. Because the flu complications in the 6 yo who was hospitalized is not vaccinated against covid and his family doesn’t wear a mask. I suspected that family got covid last winter too. however, I know a 10 yo who go the flu vaccine and covid vaccine and the flu hit her hard, but was not hospitalized.
  16. Does anyone know if there is a rise in flu complications for ages 5-10 yo? Someone told me that the flu is leading to pneumonia in that age range. Which is different from the flu in years past.
  17. I can only answer your first set of questions. I had the same symptoms. Low grade fever, little bit of body ache and sore arm. dh had same symptoms. None. Lucky duck.
