Hi. Writing and rhetoric is an intensive writing course. My daughter did books 5 and 6 last year with schole and her writing improved immensely. I taught her books 1-4 prior to putting her in schole. Outlining is taught in books 2 and 4 I believe. I think book 1 would be too easy for her if she has had IEW experience. If it was my kid, I’d pull her out. It’s hard catching up. There are IEW classes via outschool. Go back to IEW. It’s not worth all this pain she is going through. I’m sorry you guys are going through this. I hope you guys figure something out.

Hi! Welcome aboard! History for all three of my kids together worked well. We did Story of the World when they were younger. However, science did not work out well. I supposed my oldest grasped science concepts easier than my middle child and that was the problem. He knew all the answers all the time. So, she naturally did not like it. 😆 I guess I wish I knew sooner.

KF94 is probably the third best mask. kn95 being the second. N95 the best. we wear kf94s everywhere. Love the fit. Have not tried kn95 s yet. Not really saying much because I live in a highly vaccinated area, and where people still wear a mask. You can still get covid wearing a mask. Just less likely with a N95.

I think Singapore math is excellent. No need for the workbook if he is doing the IP. My son math minded too. We started with SM 1 and 2, then went to Beast Academy 3. 1 and 2 were not out back then. Then straight to Art of Problem Solving pre-algebra. I will say that I did do BA 2A and 2B with one of my daughters and was not a big fan. But enjoyed BA 3, 4, and 5. Beast Academy is a lot harder than Singapore Math, so something to consider. Otherwise, I think SM is an excellent program. Hope this helps.

If there is any writing in the co-op, then yes, I would like the teacher know. Exactly what you told us. Sometimes explanations help the other person understand things better.

I love it! I love seeing my children grow and develop! Plus, I take charge of their education. I know what they are learning (for now anyhow haha). I also love that they have time to seek out other avenues that public school doesn't offer.

This is so true. It’s what I witnessed traveling cross country over the summer. Unfortunately, there were very few people masking. And we even got turn down service for wearing a mask! How pathetic was that? Trying to keep everyone healthy has turned into something…… I’m not going to say it because I’m a moderator.

I didn't skip a year. We just went through the books really fast. He didn't need to do as many problems that was presented in the book. I needed to learn how to not have him do all of the problems on the page too! For math, Beast Academy works well for some accelerated learners.

I understand what you mean. I believe we are all different and have different levels of energy. I bet you are working too and don’t know it. In your example you went to the farmers market. That’s work too. You got food. we all contribute in different ways. As long as you do what you need or can do, you should be fine. The same for your dc too.

One of my kids have used the LA 4 and Math 4. It really is beautiful! I loved the LA. Not crazy about the spelling, but she is a good speller anyhow, so it wasn't a problem. Math was good too. I thought it had too many problems though. Overall, we used LA and math for multiple years. Not the history though.
