    I'm having some weird deja vu and amnesia moments. I can't tell if I've read these threads/written these posts/asked these questions before or if I wanted to have asked them but forgot or something else.

      Its also weird when you find yourself reading a post and shaking your head thinking "No way, this poster doesn't know ANYTHING about XYZ" only to realize that you're reading and vehemently disagreeing with your past self.

    Gave myself permission to give away clothing that is five sizes away from the next child that would wear them, instead of storing them.

      Kudos. So now your next child will gain 3.5 sizes between now and New Years. By summer 2016 they will be in desperate need of those exact clothes you gave away and no store will carry decent clothes in that size/width.

    After three months of work, we finally finished the chapter on fractions in Grace's math book. She struggled so much with understanding and manipulating fractions. She made a 76% on the test. She was upset; I was like, "Thank God, we're done with fractions!!!"

      Good on you both for perseverance. What did you use for Math?

       

      My advice for going forward? Do 3 fraction problems a day for the forseable future. (1st: convert/find an equivalent fraction, 2nd add/subtract a fraction, 3rd multiply/divide a fraction)

       

      It'll make things easier going forward.

    My children are declining to do school today because they don't "feel" like it. I'm wondering if my play should be (i) "I beg to differ" or (ii) "OK, let's scrub toilets for eight hours." I'm going to sip my coffee for a few minutes and let them think I'm actually considering their demands.

      In your case, I say put them to work. THEN make them do their school work anyway.

    My boys made me dinner as a prize for finishing my finals :). Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. Get this--they even washed the dishes!!!

      I was really touched. I didn't know that they'd been doing that much cooking at their Grandmas. The Mac N Cheese was from a box, but it still made my night! :)
