  1. Thanks for the input. Do you find that other books are usally in the library, like for SOTW, if the ones from All Through the Ages aren't?
  2. Have any of you used this resource? I have been going through my "favorites" and stumbled on it, again. It lists books chronologically and geographically, and by age appropriateness. Has it helped you find more books that aren't listed in WTM, but are worth reading?
  3. Hi, I am new here. I have a 13 (almost 14) yr old daughter, and 10 and 7 yr old boys. We are preparing for high school this coming year. We tried Apologia this year and it is just not a fit. My daughter loves experiments and that part of science, but she loathes the reading. I think we have figured out that the problem boils down to a poor vocabulary. She can not remember what words mean unless they are frequently used words. We are working on this problem, but I don't forsee enough of an improvement before maybe her junior year to be able to do a more rigorous science program. And I want her to enjoy science, as much as my dh and I do. Anyways, I found a program at Rainbow Resources called Science Power Basics. It is supposed to have the content of a high school course, but a lower level vocabulary. I wasn't impressed with the experiment they showed, so I was thinking of adding Castle Heights Experiences in Biology. So, my question is, have any of you used either of these two programs? Any opinions?
