  1. I took my nursing baby to last years convention. He was around 6 months old at the time. I just nursed him through most of the sessions to keep him quiet lol. There are always a ton of nursing babies there. This year I will probably leave him with my mom since he will be around 18 months old. He will still be nursing but I live in Cincinnati so it will just be for 8 hours of so. I wouldn't walk around outside for a walk, but there is plenty of space to walk around inside the convention center hallways. I can't speak for the hotel accommodations since I am local, we don't use them. I love the Cincy convention and can't wait to go again!
  2. How exciting! I got a Fitbit force for Christmas and I'm so excited too! Have fun!
  3. First off I'm sorry about your babies. I've had 3 losses myself (2 first trimester miscarriages and an ectopic) and it is devastating. My repeat loss panel came back completely normal except I had borderline high homocysteine. I googled the crap out of that and came up with MTHFR gene. I asked my doctor to test me for it (it wasn't included in the original panel) and turns out I am homo or have two copies of the gene. Long story short, I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, and I've done injections of blood thinners the whole pregnancy. I startd with Lovenox, and am now on twice a day Heparin. This was in addition to a specific supplement of methylated folic acid, b6,and b12, and a baby aspirin every day. I'll never know which med did the trick , but if I am lucky enough to have any other pregnancies after this one I will follow this protocol again. May be worth asking for the test! You never know.
  4. Almost the same thing happened to me. I was super tired until about 18-20 weeks or so and then had a couple good weeks and now I am TiRED. Like first trimester tired. And super lazy. I'm 27 weeks now, so I thought I should still be feeling great. I am slightly anemic and had a little low blood pressure last time. I didn't know low blood pressure would make you tired. Off to google it. Get some rest! I will too lol :grouphug:
  5. Yes! And waistbands really bother me and the baby! Anytime I have a waistband across my belly he kicks and squirms until I move it down or up over my belly lol.
  6. I use Scholaric and love it! It is web based, but I only use it on my iPad and it shows up well and I have no problems with it. The developer is always taking requests and is always upgrading the software. I especially love the bump feature where you can bump your assignments ahead or back a day if you get off schedule. And you can't beat the price! (well I guess technically you can if you use a free program) it is $1/month per student with a $5 max. There's a free trial so check it out!
  7. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had the same thing happen and even though it is "rare" it means nothing, you hurt badly all the same. :grouphug:
  8. Those look delicious! I can't wait to try them!
  9. I m very interested in trying it once they come out with the iPad version!
  10. I wouldn't start out with a pattern! Unless you can take a class, or work with someone who knows how to read them, they can be very confusing! I started off with simple tutorials. They usually have step by step instructions with real life pictures and really helped me. You will get confidence with each thing you sew, and it is so fun too! This is one of the very first things I sewed. Very simple with all straight lines, and it actually turned out decent enough for a gift even though I really had no idea what I was doing yet lol. http://blog.christyscreations.com/tea-wallet-tutorial/ And here is my very favorite simple pj pant tutorial. (not mine, just my fav!) http://madebypetchy.blogspot.com/2008/06/tutorial-10-minute-trousers.html
  11. It's really weird but after struggling with infertility for years and multiple miscarriages, I still get jealous when someone tells me they are pregnant. Even though I am currently pregnant! It makes no sense what so ever. Here I am pregnant with my second and I feel the pang of jealousy. How weird is that?? Sometimes it is that the person has no trouble getting pregnant or has many many kids but I ask myself, would I want anyone to have trouble getting pregnant? No! Would I want anyone to experience the heartbreak with the loss of a much wanted pregnancy? No! Multiple times? Absolutely not. So I just try to reason with myself and think about everything I have and how happy I am for them. I have no real answers at all for you, I don't know why it happens or how to stop it, but wanted you to know you weren't alone in your weird jealousy feelings. :)
  12. My son and I both have food intolerances and I take our own food pretty much everywhere we go. For pizza parties I will usually make us a pizza and take it (I've even taken it to Chuck E Cheese for a birthday party!) I try to make whatever they are having so my son doesn't feel left out. If it was just me, I wouldn't care, but as a child he likes to eat what others are. People do make comments about our "healthy food" like we are doing it for a diet or something. Like I'm trying to put my 5 year old on a diet. :glare: Or they will try a cupcake I made and tell me how it tastes just like a cupcake! Go figure it still has a ton of sugar in it lol.
  13. How exciting! I love "Home Routines" to keep up with the housework!
  14. This thread has helped me so much! I am currently 20 weeks and am experiencing the same thing. People say I should be feeling great right now, but I feel so run down. I'm not throwing up anymore, but my heart is racing and palpitating and I'm so tired. I am also anemic, and the doc prescribed me iron (I had to take it with my last pregnancy too) and I have also been spotty taking it. I also just don't feel like eating to much either. I have only gained 8 lbs so far this pregnancy. I have multiple food intolerances that I didn't have with my last pregnancy so I haven't been able to eat as much. Well I can't eat what sounds good to me which is all the things I can't have. :001_smile: I think after I get paid tonight I will head to the store and stock up on food I can eat that sounds good and start tracking calories for a couple days to make sure I'm getting enough and see if eating more makes me feel better. Also I will take that darn iron pill every day :D This so glad I ran across this today! Hope you get some relief too!
  15. My doctor could tell during my ultrasound that I hadn't expelled everything and sent me back home to finish the miscarriage. I went back a day or so later for another ultrasound and he said it was complete. Also they should follow your beta numbers (blood test) back down to normal. If they stay up that could indicate an incomplete miscarriage that you will need a D&C for. I have had a natural miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy, and a third miscarriage I opted for a D&C with. The last one (D&C) was by far my "easiest" physically. None of them are easy emotionally. I'm so sorry you are going through this. :grouphug: it sucks and is so awful.
  16. I totally agree. In fact I am so tempted to buy this I am reading the "negative" reviews every day to stop myself. I am also busy putting in my entire next years plans (very easily I might add) with Scholaric with the hope I won't accidentally buy it if I know I will have to re-enter everything. I love the function on Scholaric where if you have to skip a day (sick days etc) you can bump the entire subject course a day. I love that! I won't ever be able to use WPD if I can't do that. I do wish Scholaric was prettier though. But at only $1/ month I'll just deal with that.
  17. Yay! I've been waiting for this! Now if only they would add last season's "Sister Wives"
  18. All you have to do is get straight acetone (not polish remover with acetone) and soak a cotton ball in it and put on your nail and wrap your nail in foil (with the cotton ball still on the nail) You soak for 10-12 minutes and then use a cuticle pusherr to scrape the polish off. It sounds worse than it is. I got everything I needed at Sally Beauty.
  19. I got a HP printer for christmas that said it was equipped with "AirPrint". I just set up the printer and it automatically worked right away. It was super easy and now I can easily print from both my iPad 2 and our iPhone 4s and iPhone 3GS. It is so handy! I don't think the printer was more than $100.
  20. I do all the planning on the iPad (in fact I rarely even get on my computer at all since I got my wireless printer!) and I've never had any issues at all. Love it! There's a free trial, so you can't lose if you want to try it. There are many features that I discover every day.
  21. I've been using Scholaric this year and really like it. It isn't the prettiest one out there, but it is simple and I like that. I tried a couple others (Skedtrack I think?) and I found it confusing. The developer is really good and adding things and functions people ask for. You can move all assignments forward if you have a sick day or whatever which is nice. It works with multiple students, but I only have one so I can't comment on that. It is web based, but shows up well on the iPad. It is $1/ month per student with a 5 student max I believe?
  22. So once you have the iPhone/ iPad app available, will those be stand alone programs? Or do you need a Mac to run the program? I do not have a Mac but have both an iPhone and iPad. Just curious!
  23. Not getting involved, but wanted to add I went to the conference and didn't get that in my bag. Just got the program, and the rhino technologies order sheet and a couple book marks. Maybe it was slipped in some of the bags but not others without them knowing.
  24. I didn't get in, but the guy in their booth at the Cincy convention told me it wouldn't be ready until late June. He said it would definitely be available before July. I'm eagerly waiting as well!
  25. We've never used MCP, but we are enjoying Primer this year. The book is pretty plain, no pictures but my son doesn't seem to mind. He is learning a lot, and I love how it comes with a DVD to explain the lesson. He also likes the blocks!
