  1. How can this be enforced? All he has to do is visit a library. Maybe it's different where he lives, but in my city he could go into a library and have access to plenty of online sewage because the librarians are against filters, even though kids are in the libraries! If he gets out on bail I hope he'll have to wear one of those ankle gps monitors.
  2. Does he even know anyone without kids/visiting grandkids to stay with? I worry that they'll park a camper on family property somewhere, let him eat meals with family members and think it's okay because his bedroom will be the camper. Hopefully the authorities will keep an eye on him (but aren't some of his brothers doing police work in their community?)
  3. So he could get up to 20 years in prison? Of course I believe JD should go to prison, and given who he is I'm sure he'll actually go to prison, unlike this local criminal (aka "child pornography collector") https://komonews.com/news/local/judge-fbi-tied-child-porn-collector-not-a-danger-to-seattle-school I don't have any personal connection to this local case other than I follow the news, and I have an elephant brain and can't forget about pervert creeps like this. Look at what he did. And the judge thinks he's a good person who just made an oopsie!
  4. This sound very wrong to me. Unless Anna molested her own children she should not lose her kids because of her husband's crimes and/or her religion. (There are people here with large families who practice religions that are pro-large family and are pointing fingers at the Duggars for being a fertility cult. Who gets to decide what religion is a cult and how many children equals fertility cult?) She's also pregnant. She shouldn't be required to go to classes or job training to be able to keep her children. But if you want the newborn baby taken from her in the delivery room and put into foster care, too, then I suppose she'll have a lot of extra time on her hands. What if she wants to study early childhood education so that she open a home daycare...or will limits be placed on what she's allowed to study? It sounds like you want her to go from husband control to some kind of government control. (Even Mary Kay Letourneau was able to keep the daughters she had with her child rape victim! She was the convicted criminal, not the spouse of the criminal! )
  5. The bride and groom should have tried to evict the current owner. They might have gotten away with it long enough to have their wedding. There's a group of "Moorish Sovereign Citizens" operating in our area. They show up claiming to own waterfront homes. Sometimes the homes are vacant and on the market. Or they ring the doorbell and tell the owners they're being evicted. (Good thing we've only got a big puddle in our driveway when it rains!) P.S. The article that I read about the local characters had a comment section. The best one was something like "They should just try that in Texas!"
  6. When I was a teen, my dream was to marry a police officer! And even better if his partner was a police dog! My childhood home was across the street from a school, and the police sometimes did late-night training sessions with the dogs in the field. It was fascinating to watch! I would just avoid cities where the city council members are talking about defunding the police at the same time that the community/businesses are begging for more help. Does your son already have some experience with firearms? If not, I'd find a shooting range that offers training.
  7. Thank you. He said something in one of the videos about how we've never closed down "mom and pop" businesses before so I assumed he was disagreeing with the response to covid, and not that it doesn't exist. He said that journalists don't contact him to check the facts about what he has supposedly claimed, other than someone recently from the local CBS station near his home in Waco. There's something written about his illness on their website but I didn't find an interview. It sounds like they are referring to the facebook videos that I saw when they say he uses racial slurs to refer to covid. I heard him call it the China virus a few times, so if that is now considered a racial slur I don't know why it's okay to continue to link the variants to other geographical locations??? But I don't follow him on social media so maybe there's more out there that I'm not aware of.
  8. Not a fan of his music, and I don't like hearing about hunting, and yet I just listened to his two most recent videos on facebook. I'm confused by what he's said and what's been said about him. He says that he's never denied that the virus exists. He says that he was already taking supplements like vitamin D and C when the virus was first in the news, and he added a zinc supplement because of covid. He was laughing about a conversation with his doctor. He said that he asked his doctor, what will you do differently for me if I test positive instead of negative, and the doctor told him nothing, but it's good to know. So, now he knows and he claims to be in quarantine at his home. I hope he does stay quarantined for the sake of others! (I'm kind of sorry that I watched the videos...I can take the cursing, even the coughing, but the spitting was gross!)
  9. A guy on the radio said, "Tyranny is always capricious." I'm still seething about the new advice to end the "hygiene theater". THEATER?! That's what they're calling it now??? I remember the shortages and buying limits on things like antibacterial wipes, bleach, etc. and then all of a sudden all these new brands I'd never seen before showed up. When I looked at the labels...."Made in China". I was thankful that I had a good stockpile at home already because I really didn't want to buy products that came from the place where the pandemic originated. I'm going to continue on with the "theater" and the "maskerade" anyway since I was a germaphobe before it was popular.

Once several years ago I bought some raw rabbit food at a pet food store when the salesperson was recommending it. It was frozen, not freeze-dried. I was hesitant because of "raw" since I was thinking bacteria. I'm so glad I mentioned my fears to her because I was thinking I could always cook some of it before feeding. She told me that cooking it would be harmful to my cat because of the bones...I hadn't even thought of the cooked bones becoming like shards! I hope all goes well with this sweet little cat!

Our cat is an orange tabby with pinkish nose, paw pads, etc. He has IBD and has been taking a daily maintenance dose of Prednisolone for years. The medicine has not changed his coloring at all. Question for you: What does your vet say about the raw rabbit diet? I would be concerned about whether raw (bacteria?) is safe for a cat taking steroids since the medicine might suppress immune function? Merrick makes a canned rabbit food for cats (pate, not chunks). This is the brand I buy for our cat but he prefers turkey.
  12. Just being honest here, but I think it would be better to focus on you right now. No wonder you're feeling worn down! Here's a thought: Since you mentioned that his spitting is a new behavior, maybe your family should be giving you some extra attention! Has your husband ever said something like this to the child: "Don't you ever spit on my wife again!" (I wouldn't say "your mother" because that just keeps the focus on the child and makes everything revolve around him.) I think the child needs to see the other family members giving you some special attention...you deserve to be respected and cared for!
  13. My daughter is much older, but when she started spitting on the floor when angry I would make her clean it up with an antibacterial wipe or cleanser. I told her not only is it disgusting but it's unsanitary. And she also lost desserts/junk food...you spit in my house, you still get your regular, nutritious meals but no potato chips, cookies, etc. Spitting in my face?! I think I'd put on a face shield when the angry outburst begins and if any spit gets on it the person will be cleaning my shield at some point...and definitely the no dessert part would apply here, too! Around here, the police have had to use spit hoods on some people while making arrests. Yes, I know this would be considered abusive with a child, but maybe this is a good thing for the child to know for future reference.
  14. What would be a good first book about PDA and/or neuroception to start with? Do I want something by Dr. Porges? (I need something that is understandable for me as a parent, not a clinician. ) Thank you!
  15. I get up at 5am every Saturday so that I can be at the grocery store when it opens at 6am. Then I spend at least an hour in the store, usually have to bag my own groceries at the check-out, and then I drive home and put everything away while my dear family members are still sleeping! I can't shop during the day because I would have to take my daughter and she refuses to wear a mask. And I'm afraid to shop at night after my husband gets home because of creepy people who are often hanging around the store/parking lot. Early morning is actually the best time for me because there aren't many customers and I'm really tired of people commenting about what I'm buying. There are more stockers in the aisles than other shoppers when I'm there and thankfully they're very friendly! I don't trust other people to do my shopping so the shopping services don't appeal to me. And I'm not kidding...this week the store was out of my dh's preferred yogurt and I had to prepare him for the substitute! When I was a kid, Saturday was my favorite day of the week...cartoons and maybe even a bowl of sugary Quisp cereal. But now all I can say is Saturday sucks!
  16. I would go to Amazon and look at valets. (I saw a white one that might work if the others are too masculine looking for her room.) Maybe this would help if she has one more proper option in addition to closet or hamper ? ( You could try having her use a chair to hang clothes over the back, but it won't solve the cat problem if the clothes are left on the seat. ) I bought a valet for someone in my home...it can be a very useful piece of furniture!
  17. I hope it's true that it's only a bowl of steaming water/herbs and not some kind of fancy steam cleaning machine. I was beginning to be afraid for Mrs. SpyCar...
  18. I wonder about this, too. I believe people deserve information to make informed choices. We don't need to be mocked by doctors tweeting about how they've received the shot and haven't come down with autism or the daughter of Bill Gates joking about not getting her father's genius implanted in her brain, etc. My personal concerns about the shots are real given my own medical history. I guarantee that I won't be putting my life in the hands of the pharmacy staff at Walgreens. All I know is that I spend time at EVERY SINGLE medical check-up answering their questions about my past drug reactions even though it's all in my medical file at the same place I've been going to for years. So...if one nurse or doctor starts to mock me when I express my concerns about how MY body may react to a particular shot and just wants to rush me into taking whatever they've got, then I will tell them to shove it (and I don't mean in my arm).
  19. I'm not a medical person, but I've read that some doctors are concerned about the safety (cardiac-related) of giving the vaccine to people who have already been exposed. The letter reprinted here is one example: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/surgeon-warns-fda-pfizer-immunological-danger-covid-vaccines-convalescent-asymptomatic-carriers/
  20. The store where I shop has regular plastic produce bags so I'm not familiar with the type you're using. (I don't typically store produce in plastic bags, though.) Two things you might want to try: Go to Amazon and look for "Bluapple". You fill these plastic blue apples with a packet that absorbs ethylene gas in the produce drawers. I think they work well. (If you don't want to buy the plastic apples you could probably just buy the refill kit and put the packets into something you already have to keep them dry. ) I also use these boxes with drip trays to store (washed) produce. https://www.qvc.com/LocknLock-4-Piece-Stackable-Fridge-Set-w-Drip-Trays.product.K51034.html?sc=SRCH
  21. I can't promise you that everything will be ok...but I can tell you that I survived. (The owners did the rental thing for a few years and finally sold the house.) There was only one loud party that entire time...we had drunk people running around at night. When they started climbing down our rockery onto our driveway my husband went out and told them not to go that way anymore. Part of the problem was that the owners didn't have any outdoor lights but we had lights in our driveway. I did end up calling the police that night when they started breaking bottles in the street. I sent an email to the owner right away letting him know what went on and suggested to him that he needed outdoor lighting so no one gets hurt on his property and sues him. And he did add lights with a motion detector after that incident so people wouldn't need to find the light switch. Mostly the people were quiet, although I understand feeling nervous about never knowing who is coming and going. And there were times when people came to our door by mistake at night looking for the place. I used to read through the airbnb reviews left by renters after they stayed there. Many people were here for job interviews, visiting relatives, going to medical treatments, etc. I sometimes think it was probably more of a hassle for the owners than for us...sometimes I would see people leaving with packages of toilet paper, paper towels, etc. so I wonder how much stuff walks away when renters leave? (And maybe I'm wrong and they brought their own tp.) I did enjoy talking to some of the people who stayed there. They might ask directions or something if I was working in the yard... I would try to get an email address and/or phone number for the current owners. (Be friendly and make them think you're just a good neighbor who can keep an eye on things in their absence so they'll give up their info.! )
  22. I'm not a medical person but I have eczema and it's painful to see the photo of your friend's hand and try to imagine the pain she's dealing with. Has she ever been treated with wet wrap therapy? There are many videos on you tube about how this is done in clinical settings. Here is just one article about using wet wraps for your friend's specific condition: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6063126/ (Praying right now for your friend!)
  23. I just watched Uncle Roger. This must be a trend on you tube...making fun of "white people's cooking school" , etc. I watched a video recently that was called something like "Mexican Mom watches Rachael Ray make ...." with a lot of laughing and swearing. Honestly, this type of thing makes me cringe. I don't know if cooking food that isn't from your own ethnic background is now forbidden...or you're just opening yourself up to ridicule if you try. Uncle Roger would've died if he had seen what my daughter ate for lunch...she had mayonnaise mixed into her rice. RIP, Uncle Roger!
  24. I've seen an unborn child included in the list of great-grandchildren...it was something like "soon to be born Jane Doe" . FWIW, the parents of this baby both have graduate degrees and are Catholic.
