  1. This will be my ninth 9th grader :laugh: TT Alg II Biblioplan Year 2 for history, geography & lit. Will toss in some lit guides. Apologia Biology Analytical Grammar or Our Mother Tongue...not really sure yet. The Power In Your Hands Writing non-fiction French-Not sure what we will use yet
  2. This. I would drop the co-op and CC and work on making your home school day run smoothly and more efficiently. Install a quiet time during the day where everyone has a book and/or quiet play for a set period of time so you get some down time. And yes, early bedtime is a must :-)

  4. I haven't been here in ages. Just dropped in to see what was up and found this thread. I have no idea when I joined the forums but we have graduated 7 of our kids now. On the home stretch. :hurray:
  5. This. My son was tested a few years ago and was diagnosed with dyslexia and his IQ as 74. We have completed 8 levels of Barton's and he is doing amazing. I really think his score of 74 was due his language disability making the score lower. I'd love to have him retested to see what his IQ would be scored as now.

  9. I need a simple, open and go Geography course for a dyslexic 9th grader. I looked at North Star, which looks great! But I think the reading would be too much for him at this point. I am also considering SOS and PACES. Any other suggestions?

  11. I am worried because it doesn't contain punctuation skills. If you add this, what do you use? I am considering AG Mechanics.

She will do: Daily Bible reading Saxon 7/6 Apologia General Science Veritas Press 1815-Modern self paced Grammar Revolution-Get Smart Essentials in Writing 7 Logic of English advanced spelling lists Teaching the Classics Cover story ( Maybe for fun. She loves to write)

I haven't posted in ages, but it's time to research curricula for fall so here I am :001_smile: I am looking at either Classical Academy Press Writing & Rhetoric book 4 or Writing With Skill book 1. If you have used either of these, or especially both, I'd love to hear from you! What did you like or dislike. Which program are you using now. Do your children like it? Thanks!
  16. I have a few children, plus my husband, who are like this. They read very well, but can't spell. at. all. I have two that can't read OR spell.

  18. Is there something I can substitute for heavy whipping cream? I don't need it to end up being thick like whipped cream but I use it in recipes to help thicken it to a mouse like consistency. What can I use instead? Thanks!
