After 9 years of homeschooling, I'm throwing in my hat (for now) and enrolling my 5 school-age kids into a really good charter school next year.  At this point I feel like they will get a better education there than what I am able to give them.  We'll see!  I'm sad and excited.

So if I am having a hard time getting my daughter to do her math lesson because she is making hexaflexagons and thinking about patterns do I consider that a success?

Our parents surprised us with tickets to the Pac 12 Championship and a Hanukkah trip to Maui!! Sans children!!! Steve and I haven't been on a vacation alone in 7 years. Wow. I am still in shock!!

Passports are sure expensive these days especially for kids who will need them again in five years.

One of my son's mentors is obnoxiously attractive. I feel ridiculous, but it is very hard to focus during our meetings sometimes.
