  1. Is there still a working link? I cannot find them in the yahoo groups
  2. Are the free notebooking pages still available online? ANd can someone please post the links for Zoology 1,2,3? Thank you in advance
  3. ANY THOUGHTS ON STARTING MCT WITH A 7/8 YEAR OLD/3RD GRADER? RECOMMEND STARTING ISLAND LATER??
  4. Thank you again... Does anyone have an example of how the island level can be scheduled? I'm wondering if planning out the text is useful or is it easiest to just use it regularly with my dd7.5 when it fits into our routine, as long as we are consistent. I intend to start PI after GI. Has anyone used the literature series: "Mud" stories for reading? Samples look intriguing. ..love the tie in with island lessons. Are they worth the cost? WWE will be our writing resource. I'm going to look at what others mentioned they use alongside.
  5. Thank you for this great advice and suggestions! Is MCT really that solid of a grammar program? My child seemz like she will retain it well; but what about daily practice supplements like Easy Grammar or Daily Grams? Any advice on how to present the two lessons weekly? I will have to look at the writing assignments in MCT in order to pair up with WWE--thank you :) I'm so excited to use MCT island series. If anyone has any suggestions or advice on using it with a 7/8 year old I would be grateful.
  6. I would greatly appreciate help so I can move forward with some kind of peace of mind. Keep narrowing my curriculum choices through research, then second guessing all my plans! My dd7 (8 in Nov), is a great reader and loves to write. She is eager to learn LA and do more in a gentle manner. I tried MCT with her, read aloud together and discussed it. I found her narrating the story and teaching about the lesson to her 5 (almost 6) year old brother! We both enjoyed our trial with the MCT island level. I just can't decide if I should use it as a core and add supplemental curric or use MCT as a supplement. Maybe it's trial and error I have to face? Well maybe feedback on what I am considering for my two children will help! Please... dd7/8 is at a late 2nd grade/early 3rd grade LA level: Core lessons: MCT grammar island, followed by building island, poetry island, and sentence island; then MCT sentence island practice Grammar: Easy Grammar 3 / or / FLL 3 Spelling: AAS 2 (quickly) & 3 Writing: WWE 2 (starting out with 2 because she has never had dictation; little narration) Reading: MCT lit series and other selections made by me penmanship: w/o tears cursive (she asked for this) Although I have two grammars listed, Grammar Island is discussion, EG3 is for practice (but not busy work). Too much though? *I am fond of Brave Writer, my girl is practicing story writing/telling regularly...may add it in 4th grade? User thoughts? ds5/6 is late K/but will be more 1st grade by winter for his LA level: Grammar: FLL1 Phonics: AAR 1 Spelling: AAS1 (after AAR 1 is complete) Penmanship (l/h): w/o tears Thank you for any feedback :)
