  1. Our son took the writing transitions class online this past year and we couldn't be happier...well, you know what I mean. He didn't have experience with Shurley grammar and I was a little worried about where his writing skills were at. He learned a lot and prepared very well for his class, his teachers were great too. This year he is registered for composition. I think the transitions class was just what he needed in the areas of grammar and writing.
  2. We are doing Omnibus throughout the Scholars Academy and have been very pleased with both the level of work and the teaching. This was a huge year for our older kids, they transitioned very well to a higher level of work and engagement. The teachers too have been very good through the academy. Interested to hear about the self-paced course too.
  3. We really like it. We used it for an older son and younger. It does progress in difficulty as the lessons move on. There is also an age appropriate literature section too. My sons still talk to me about what they learned, a lot of times it is such a delightful surprise to hear all they remember from the past year. Our younger son will use it again this year.
  4. Have you found the text for a good price? For those of you who have used Harold Jacobs text, what did you like about it? We have been using the algebra text with DVDs, in the upper chapters it could use a bit more in depth teaching/a bit more teaching--at least that's what we found. What have you found with the geometry text?
  5. Moved from the PNW almost a year ago. What a transition to this new part of the country for us! How many people from the NoHo area? We are homeschooling kids from the ages of 15-4. Just thought I'd say hi! Tk
