    While packing for a cross-country road trip this week, I sent the kids to do Khan Academy instead of teaching their usual math lessons. Ds said he would rather learn his math from me. Like the Grinch, I think my heart grew 3 sizes today.

      I'm so thankful I can fulfill this wish for my daughter. I wanted a piano so badly when I was a child. It sounds so beautiful to hear her play randomly throughout the day :)

    My family finally went on one of those famous Missouri float trips. I have a sunburn, sore shoulders and my kids heard quite a lot of cussing on the river. Overall it was a great experience!

      Yesterday was recovery day, we drank lots of fluids and rested. We floated the Niangua, north of Lebanon. No arrowheads, but tons of crayfish, little fish and great scenery. I think we should study Lewis and Clarke's journey now!

    Just ordered Junk Drawer Robotics. This is going to be so much fun!

      We are using it for a group of 9-13 year olds. I think we will have 8 kids in the group. The class doesn't start until end of January so I have some time to gather supplies.

      Sprinkle some garden lime on those things! I'm very conflicted about mice, they are cute in a cage... not cute eating my flour. Traps gross me out, but I shouldn't have watched that exposé on hantavirus...

    The Children's Librarian at my local library just asked me for suggestions for a homeschool book section they want to create. For a moment my mouth just hung open like a fish.... there was a traffic jam in my brain!

      I'm not sure what they ended up ordering but I'm hopeful they ordered some of the books on my wishlist ;) As a newbie the thought of choosing and then buying curriculum that we might not like is very stressful!

    If my kids were in PS, today would be their first day. Instead we are halfway across the country visiting the Mayflower II and Plimouth Plantation.
