I agree with the planning. Both when I've worked & when I don't, I've found meal planning a lifesaver. I shop based on the plan & it just makes life easier.

Me too! I thought I couldn't plan a week of meals, and now that I do it, I can't go back to my random ways. It makes it really easy to make a list, and shop each time. We also do "theme" meals, like meatless Monday, taco Tuesday, etc. It's the planning more than the cooking that's exhausting for me.

I wonder if this mom could find 2-3 meals that she and the kids like, and repeat those often. There's no rule saying you have to have seven different meals each week. You can also do small variations, like taco bowl vs. tacos, or quesadillas instead of tacos.

I just had to renew mine late. I only had to take the vision test because I wear glasses. I've lived in many states and overseas in my adult life and I haven't had to take a road test since I first got my license when I was 16. I only had to take a written test for my overseas license. I thought that was odd since I had to drive on the opposite side of the road. 🤪

    Oooh. Thanks! There's hope!

I live in a state that does not send written notification when it's time to renew one's license. Out of the six states I've lived in,

this is the only one that doesn't notify 3-60 days in advance.

Yes, why don't they send notifications? It's not like I look at my driver's license ever.

Now I need to become the kind of person who sends myself calendar invites for things 5 years in the future. That's sooo not me.

Was she shown line by line without dilation as well, or did they show multiple lines at a time? Not being able to isolate a line would be an issue if it’s own.

Do you know what the name for this would be? Or eyes jumping to the line above while trying to concentrate on one line?

  5. If he has great reading comprehension, I wouldn't worry about developing it too much. You could hit major things like metaphors, similes, symbols, etc. Sign of the Beaver is a great book for this!

I would read out loud to him, and also have him practice with audio books.

It might be a good age to start listening to audio books, and taking a few notes after each chapter (either by hand or with Google Docs/typing/voice to text).

Yep! My lovely old neighbour bought me granny undies as a Christmas gift one year. I didn’t like to throw them out but didn’t wear them forever and a day… until one day in a washing crisis I put them on and my life changed! Granny undies are the best.

    Ha! That's great 🙂

I love that your neighbor bought you undies. I've gotten a lot of gifts from my neighbors across the street, but never undies!! 😄

We use this Zwilling stainless steel one for pour over since my husband prefers not using paper filters. My husband is worried about potential chemicals in paper filters. We don’t use the anti slip bottom of the pour over and just leave it in the box it came in. Our kettle is stainless steel too because my husband worry about heated plastic.

    That's a nice one!

  8. Hi, has anyone filled out the federal teacher loan forgiveness form?

In the last section, an administrator has to sign the form certifying that the applicant has worked for five years in a qualifying school. I've worked in multiple qualifying schools during the past 5 years. Do I need to provide a list of all of them? There's not space to do so on the form.

    Thanks!

The biggest issue is that I have almost no containers or ways to store stuff, outside of my kitchen, which is my sacred space.

Have you tried to get rid of as many things as possible? The Minimal Mom is big on the mental and physical load of having to manage a lot of "inventory." The more stuff, the more work it is to maintain it.

I started off strong decluttering a few months ago. Need to get back to it.

For those of you that are suggesting apple cider vinegar, I have two questions.

What do you use to apply it? I’m thinking a cotton round??

Also, won’t the vinegar sting? (Because of the rash, I mean)

I just used a washcloth. Anything would work.

It did sting for a few seconds, but the relief was so worth it. It took about a week to fully go away.

I threw out all my old deodorants in case they were contaminated, and tried to wear loose shirts.

We are somewhat concerned with yeast as a possibility but not convinced. She does have some eczema issues especially around the eyes, so that’s my first suspicion. But if it doesn’t clear up soon, we’ll consider the yeast more seriously.

I had a yeast rash under my armpits once. It lasted a long time and it was a while before I figured it out. Apple cider vinegar, full strength, twice a day was the only thing that made it go away.

In the meantime I used coconut oil as a deodorant. It worked okay.
