Do you think you may have ADHD? Inability to begin things (task initiation) is a hallmark of ADHD.

I've got two cats in a small house 😞 We got the new kitten to keep the other cat company! Ack.
-
Well, it's hard! My kitten has a brother who is still in the shelter 😞

Living in harmony with those you disagree with

I would have an extremely hard time letting go of any of the things you described, and I would likely not want to spend time with these relatives. Personally, I don't think that family relationships are necessarily more worth preserving than non-family relationships. If it's not a person I would choose to spend time with if I met them "in the wild," then I don't see a need to cultivate a relationship with them just because we're family. Maybe that sounds horrible and cold. I can see how it would be a lot harder to deal with when people talk to you about it/make you feel guilty about it, though. I usually don't have an issue just not talking about certain things with people, but as a result my relationship with them is superficial. -
I do that sometimes 🙂

Yikes! It's hard to believe that it's not painful!

Hmmm... not sure I'm willing to trade dusty litter for teeny tiny legos 🙂
-
That's interesting! I've never heard of walnut shell litter.

All of the cat litters at the grocery store claim to be 99.9% dust free. Uh, no. If it's so dust-free, why am I enveloped in a cloud of litter dust every time I pour it out? Does anyone have recs for really good, little-dust-as-possible litter?

Those are so cute! I love bento boxes.

Also, what most people can donate would be kind of a drop in the bucket compared with the bills, if they're in the thousands or many thousands of dollars. The college can't do an organization-wide fundraiser for every person who gets sick or has a life event. It would just be constant fundraising. I'm very sorry about your coworker.

Me too - when I was a HS senior, I *looked* on the surface like a pretty together student, so my parents had no idea that I was totally overwhelmed and clueless about EVERYTHING to do with college applications. It would have been so much better if my parents had said something like, we're going to work on this together on X day at X time.

What if they both need work? 🙂

Whoa! So jealous. I can't even do 1 pushup 😞 My arms are noodles!

Me too. Put on your own oxygen mask first!
-
Oh no! At least you know what it is.

I'm all boosted. I think I got my shot in October. I've still not had covid yet! I work at a K-8 school and I haven't been hearing too much about kids getting covid lately. My mom (70) got covid a month ago and got Paxlovid right away. Mild case... barely troublesome for her. Yay!

Mainers and other New Englanders--how did you weather the storm?
Kanin replied to MEmama's topic in The Chat Board
Whoaaa that's crazy! Lots of wind/water damage in my area. I'm about a mile from the water so all I got was some high winds and lots of rain. Small to medium tree branches fell in the yard. I'm so thankful it wasn't worse! -
I got mine at Outdoor Research. They often have sales.

Obviously, your mother is unreasonable. If your family members get swept up in it, too, then they are also unreasonable.
