  1. This was my thought as well. My daughter once had chigger bites on her feet when we were camping and she was miserable. They were terribly itchy. This is also my kid who through the years has had many random bump/rash/unidentified bite reactions. I have had her to the doctor before and she has been diagnosed with everything from poison ivy to sun poisoning with several "I have no idea"s thrown in there as well.
  2. The bookstore may have made an error in your favor that was corrected. In Ohio for DE through the College Credit Plus program, homeschoolers and private school students are required to pay for their own books. Those enrolled in public schools have theirs paid for by the school districts. The person at the bookstore may have been confused. You would have been notified if they had increased the alotted funding again. You said that you anticipated that you would have to pay for spring. Does your community college offer a decreased tuition rate for CCP students that go above their alottment? Ours has a greatly reduced tuition rate for hours over and above what the state approved for your funding. I would ask the reps at your college.
  3. I wear a lot of skirts and dresses in the summertime. I love buying online from eshakti.com as they have some nice quality dresses, affordable prices. It is worth it to pay the extra $10 to have the clothing custom made to your measurements. You can also customize necklines and sleeve lengths to get exactly what you like. They have some beautiful tops too though I have never ordered one of those. I have also recently bought several pieces from Lularoe. I am able to be very comfortable but not always be in sweat pants and the like. You can buy from people online but I highly recommend finding someone local so you can try things on. Fabrics and sizing varies and going by their size charts is not reliable. I wear a small in some items but prefer a 2XL in some others. Old Navy and Kohls are my local go-to stores as well as thrift stores. We have some great ones here.
  4. I have had picky issues at my house as well. It is not a hill I am willing to die on. I was somewhat of a picky kid but eat many more foods now. My 15 year old used to be very limited in what she would eat but now eats most of what I prepare. Sometimes, she might choose to eat only certain components but its fine. She however will not eat eggs or bananas. The smell of those foods makes her nauseous. It has been this way since she was a toddler. My 13 year old has been the most limited in her foods but is also starting to come around. She does not like most meat and up until recently would never eat tomato sauce. She now will eat the sauce but not the meat. She eats a lot of side dishes and salads. Both of my girls are however now old enough that they can choose to eat what I prepare or do something for themselves. I always make enough for everyone to eat what I prepare if they choose to do so. ETA: My dh was one of those kids that was forced to eat what was put before him or go hungry. He is now the pickiest of us all. I will add that none of us are super adventurous eaters at all.
  5. Their gluten free brownie mix is awesome. My daughter loves these raspberry jaffa cakes that they have but they only have them once a year. Last time, I bought 6 boxes. In general, I haven't been pleased with their meat or produce but the shelf stable stuff and the dairy, I havent had any problems. .
  6. The Napping House Anything by John Butler. The illustrations are breathtaking and my girls still love these books. Our favorite was Hush, Little Ones. https://www.amazon.com/Hush-Little-Ones-Peachtree-Petite/dp/1561452971/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1488277339&sr=1-5&keywords=john+Butler
  7. I am a recent Lularoe convert. I had to find something that was comfortable to wear out with my family that didn't just involve hoodies and sweat pants. For me, this has been the answer. Some of the prints are hideous but I had added some really beautiful color to my wardrobe and I am loving it. I can be comfortable but not look like a ragamuffin all of the time. I wear the leggings with dresses or some of the shirts that I have also purchased from LLR. My best friend is also now a consultant, so I help her out too. I have worn mine with sneakers, low boots, knee boots, flip flops and sandals.
  8. Hanna Andersson, Carter's and Oshkosh were my go tos when my girls were little. My youngest was hard on stuff and those are the ones that held up to her wear.
  9. Even when houses are sold out, the house managers usually have extra seats held back to help solve problems. If someone purchased that seat that absolutely could not sit there, they would have had to move them. Glad you enjoyed the performance at least.
  10. I have had great success getting dresses from eshakti.com. You can customize their dresses to different lengths, necklines and sleeves so you can really get the dress you want. They will also custom make the dress to your measurements. If you sign up for a new account, you can also save $25 on your first purchase and get free shipping. I have several dresses from here that are well made and I love them. They have several dresses in that vintage style also.
  11. I love my Teva flip flops. I have the Women's Decker style. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KXDFSV0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  12. I don't remember the dosage I was on when I took it, but my mood swings were horrible. My irritability turned to rage. I managed apartments at the time and it was so bad that my leasing consultant had it marked on her calendar when I would be taking it. My husband was a saint to live with me at that time. I would never take it again.
  13. One of my daughter's hobbies is cake decorating. We were asked to do cupcakes for my BIL's wedding. I was making the cupcakes and after about 100 of them were made, realized that all of the paint was chipping off of the paddle on my Kitchenaid mixer. Had no idea how long it had been going on. So, had to run out to get a new paddle and redo all of those cupcakes. On a side note, do not make red velvet cupcakes on the morning of a wedding where you are the matron of honor. Or if you do, wear gloves when handling the food coloring. I have also set the stove on fire and burned many dishcloths/potholders/pans because I have a problem with turning on the wrong burners.
  14. I had an Ameda when my second was born but that was 13 years ago. It worked fine. I have not had experience with the others.
  15. I give it away to others in my homeschool group. If no one there can use it, it goes to Goodwill. I used to try to sell stuff and ship out, but got tired of all of the hassle. I have been able to get rid of quite a bit but I have a ton of stuff right now that needs to go.
  16. Clorox 2 is awesome for stains. It will even get out blood that has gone through the dryer and set in. I try to catch the stains and treat before I wash but will put in some of the Clorox 2 with each load just to help stuff. The dawn dishwashing liquid is the only thing that gets out greasy stains for me. I am allergic to Tide and can't use it. I have good luck with arm and hammer but it is scented. I use hot for towels, sheets, sometimes with my whites and scrubs. I use cold water on most everything else. Works just as well as warm in my opinion.
  17. Every hospital should have a patient advocate on staff. Call them and tell them your concerns and lay out everything. They should be able to help you sort out what is going on.
  18. Butter. It drives me crazy when someone puts unwrapped butter back in the refrigerator. DH and I have been married 16 years and the only true fight we have ever had was over unwrapped butter. Also, socks. I cannot stand for them to be inside out, on myself or anyone else. In fact, my college roommate has told me that she, to this day, cannot put socks on inside out because of me. I cannot sleep with any clothing on my arms. Prefer to sleep naked but end up most of the time with a tank top.
  19. I think she should do guard, since she committed to that first.
  20. I am in a completely different place than I dreamed I would be when I was 18, but I think I am in a better place. I have things I would love to do at this point in my life, but my commitment to my family, including my full time job, take priority right now. My time left with my children is so short, I am content with postponing those things. Its just a few more years. I also now have more dreams of what dh and I might be able to do together when our children are gone. Vastly different dreams of those of my youth, but sound so awesome to me now.
  21. Cameron's coffee is available on Amazon and the cups are not all plastic. For flavored coffee, I really enjoy the Highlander Grogg. My daughter likes the Cameron's Velvet Moon Espresso. I also like Green Mountain Breakfast Blend.
  22. I don't have an instant pot (yet), but we love our panini press. It gets a lot of use around here. I do still use butter with it, especially with grilled cheese. Mine is a Cuisinart. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/cuisinart-reg-griddler-trade-panini-press/1014339264?skuId=14339264&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_kitchenelectrics_&adpos=1o3&creative=160101884793&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&product_id=14339264&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-f3CBRCbluKf4vu008kBEiQAl-iGq2CZWNhHOJU56-38LqOYNUWfpwUCC_BhuBgItRc1IsEaAlPM8P8HAQ
  23. Not ready and don't really care. I have less than 0 in the Christmas spirit department. I am at work right now dreading all that lies ahead of me when I get home. Add it all to family crap and I really wish I had just volunteered to work this year and could skip the whole thing.
