  1. I also recommend them. I have had great results every time and have only once ever had a shipping issue that delayed things about a week. I had my daughter's prom dress custom made to measurements and it was perfect. She was so happy that it fit her so well.
  2. Way to go! Honestly, I have had to resort to hiring someone to come in and help me. I have her come in once a month and do a deep clean on the bathroom and whatever else I haven't been able to get to for the month. There is just only so much time. I have her come at a time when I am also free and she works in one part of the house and I work in another. Often, I have her going behind me doing the dusting, sweeping, mopping as I deal with the clutter. It alleviates a lot of my stress.
  3. Throat coat tea and a throat spray called Singer's Saving Grace. You can get both at the health food store. Also, complete vocal rest as others have mentioned.
  4. For my husband, it is a version of "Happy Together" by The Piano Guys For my Mom, it is "Mama said there'd be days like this". For everyone else, it is usually "Wait for it" from Hamilton but currently it is still "Carol of the Bells" because I forgot to change it after Christmas. My oldest daughter never calls me. Neither does my youngest daughter but she doesn't like Hamilton so she insisted on a different ringtone so hers is set to "Angel in Blue jeans" by Train.
  5. Please try not to worry about this too much. My daughter had a couple of soft markers when I was pregnant with her. I had the higher level US. The genetic counselors drove me crazy wanting me to have an amnio which we were dead set against because of my history of miscarriage. She had a thickened nuchal cord and a clubfoot showing on US. She did not have DS but did have a clubfoot. A large portion of my pregnancy was taken up with this worry and it was all for nothing. I hope you can get in to have the US very soon.
  6. I am so sorry for your loss. My extended family lost one of our precious children to epilepsy this fall. It is truly heartbreaking although not your fault at all. I know from reading your post that your daughter felt your love every day. That is the best gift we can give our children whether their lives are too short or long-lived.
  7. I had it for a little while after my second child was born but I hated being pregnant so much for the most part and that cured me of the fever. I am 46 now and have little twinges occasionally but they leave me quickly. I hope you can find your peace with it one way or the other.
  8. You need a pair of these. My girls wore them for dance. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_8?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dance+paws&sprefix=dance+pa%2Caps%2C136&crid=9E2BYG2K57US
  9. Another vote for Duke's mayo. I started using because it didn't have sugar in it but it is so good that it is now all that I will buy. I don't have any trouble finding it here in Ohio but it can also be purchased from Amazon.
  10. I have another vote for St. Edward's University in Austin. I am an alumni with a BA in Theatre. I loved my time there and feel that I received an excellent education. The theatre department particularly is awesome. They have some of the other degrees of interest there as well.
  11. I need to work in improving my health. To that end, I am also trying to get off of working third shift. Perpetual lack of sleep is causing issues with my body that I have never had before. I need a day job. Also, tied in with that, is that I need to figure out a way to do more for myself. I have spent the past 16 years putting myself to the side for the sake of my family. I don't regret any of that but I need to find something for myself to achieve some balance in my life. I want to go camping more. It brings me peace.
  12. Paying for college will be a joint effort for us. My husband works for a local university where we qualify for reduced tuition so that possibility is there for both children. However, I strongly feel that it is not the right for my dd16. I think if we try to force her to go to school there, she will not be happy because it just isn't a good fit for her. I think she will drop out before she finishes just like my nephew did with the same school. Unfortunately, based on the estimated calculators, our EFC is going to be prohibitively high. There is no way either of us could cover it alone. It will be a struggle to cover it anyway. We have a little money saved. She will need to strive for merit aid. She will have to take some loans. She is currently doing dual enrollment at our local CC so that will hopefully cut out up to a year of general education requirements. Younger dd will be a different story. The university my dh works for is a better fit for her. She is now also doing dual enrollment and will be able to knock out much more of her college there. She really wants to graduate debt free. We will support both to the extent that we can.
  13. I would like to buy a few games for my dear friend's family for Christmas? They have a dd5, ds9 and ds12. Which board games or card games would be best enjoyed by a family of 5 with children these ages? Thanks for your help.
  14. I am planning to make cinnamon rolls in the morning but then we are just doing appetizers for the rest of the afternoon. Each person has requested their favorite. There will be deviled eggs, meatballs, buffalo chicken dip, pigs in a blanket and some veggies. I have to be at work at 9 PM on Christmas night so this will be easiest for me and everyone can just graze all day.
  15. I vote for a gift and recognition to be sure. I like to share in the joy of all of my children's accomplishments.
  16. One of the doctors I work for has always given me a gift card. It has varied between Amazon, nice restaurants or gas station cards. I really like the Amazon ones because I have been able to get pricier items that I wouldn't necessarily buy myself. It is always fun for me.
  17. So far, I have gotten him a handheld telescope for when we go camping, etc and a this t-shirt. https://shirt.woot.com/offers/family-breakfast?ref=cnt_ctlg_dgn_1 I will likely get him some lego mini-figures for his stocking to go with his traditional food/candy items. The girls will get him something as well. We do not usually go all out.
  18. Dh and dds always get a can of pringles. I always get some of each person's favorite candy and my dh always gets a beef summer sausage. Then, there are usually chapsticks, small hand lotions, ear buds, any little thing that I think my family would enjoy with hopefully a surprise or two. Youngest dd always gets a chocolate orange and andes mints. Dh and the girls remember my stocking sometimes. I have put things in there for myself before but its disappointing.
  19. I am so sorry for everyone feeling loss at this time. One of my cousin's three year old twins passed away last weekend. My heart hurts so much I can barely face normal days much less the holidays. He was just the sweetest little boy.
  20. For me, it would be anything that I felt put me or my children in emotional or physical peril.
  21. I would like to try Plated. I will PM you with my information.
  22. The lovely Night Elf gave me a free week of Hello Fresh. For my family to eat decent food at a restaurant 2-3 meals a week, it would cost much more than the $70 for Hello Fresh for 2 meals. I would not use it year round but I have gotten additional ones right now because we are crazy busy. I am also really enjoying the fact that I don't have to decide what to make and its injecting some new ideas into our menus. The one thing I do not like is that on the family plan, they seem to send green beans with many of the meals. I would like a little more vegetable variety.
  23. I was extremely ill with both pregnancies and different things worked for each. I just ate whatever I could keep down. With my youngest daughter, I had to have IV fluids several times because I would get so ill and dehydrated, I couldn't come out of it on my own. Perhaps she should consult her doctor and see if she needs this. For my OB, the line was when I couldn't keep down water. I was off to the hospital every time.
  24. Cry. A lot. I love my children but being pregnant was absolutely miserable for me both times and I'm now 46. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
