  1. Accidental post! Sorry!
  2. 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons lukewarm water 2 tablespoons canola oil 4 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon non-iodized salt 3 cups sifted bread flour 1 tablespoon Fleischmann's instant yeast Quick bake setting (58 minutes) Reduce amount of instant yeast if machine cycle is longer than 58 minutes. You may need to adjust/change measurements since your bread machine is a different brand than mine.
  3. I had a long post written, but deleted it because I believe this an instance where you need to see foot/ankle orthopedist if symptoms don't decrease or resolve in the next week or so.
  4. A neighbor who hosted a cookie-baking party had a gingerbread house station set up so the kids could assemble and decorate their own mini-gingerbread houses. I think she used graham crackers instead of gingerbread, and ready-made frosting to hold the crackers together.
  5. Homemade cheesecake, noodle kugel, or squash casserole.
  6. I have an Oster Express Bake bread machine, purchased several years ago based on Hive recommendations. It has been a fantastic, reliable machine, but I make bread daily (often 2X daily) and DH would like to get me a new machine for Christmas. So, which bread machine do you recommend for 2X daily use? I mostly make white and white/whole wheat loaves, but my family’s favourite recipe is an easy-peasy white quick-bake loaf (I think it’s the four tablespoons of sugar that make it so yummy, similar to Hawaiian bread). Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

  8. New England? Sugoi Subzero running tights are absolutely the warmest, most comfortable running tights I gave ever worn.
  9. Oh gosh, how well I remember those low-ferritin years; Floradix was my 3:00 am "crack pipe" on especially bad nights.
  10. My 12 year-old Chi Pin has degenerative disk issues; she is an active, athletic dog, but sometimes jumps off the couch wrong or wrenches her back during one of her nightly 300 or so jumps straight up in the air because she is just so excited. She presents similarly to your description, and tramadol and/or doggy nsaids (carprofen?) help with the pain until the injury settles down.
  11. For towels, dog blankets, and hot yoga cloth mats, I add pine sol to the wash. For workout gear and performance fabrics, I use HEX performance free and clear pods.
  12. I have lived in Huntsville for 18 years! I was a secular homeschooler for three years; ds15 now attends a private school in HSV. There is at least one secular homeschool group here, and while many of the co-ops and activity groups are church or faith-based, many do not require a statement of faith. https://www.rocketcitymom.com/homeschooling-resources-in-huntsville/
  13. I have a Vorfreude spray mop and love it because of the large mop head/cleaning surface: https://www.amazon.com/Vorfreude-Integrated-Included-Refillable-Microfibre/dp/B07JMM2PC8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541118567&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=vorfreude+floor+mop&dpPl=1&dpID=4145idUJtFL&ref=plSrch
  14. The breaks from the medication have helped DS14 avoid tolerance to the meds and have helped us keep the dosage low during the three years he has taken it.
  15. Is she taking rest days away from the medication? DS14 takes weekends and summers off of the medication, and will also skip meds on school days if he doesn't have math or biology.

  17. I'm currently in a walking boot due to achilles tendinosis. Orthopedist referred me to a physical therapist who analysed the injury and my body mechanics, then prescribed specific exercises to strengthen the leg muscles. He specifically stated no heel stretches, that there is new research showing that they do not help. Instead, I am doing heel raises, various types of squats, and other exercises to gain muscle strength to help reduce tendon load. He also showing me how to change the cadence of my running gait to reduce tendon load.
  18. Someone I know has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and some of her early symptoms were drenching night sweats, low-grade fever, extremely itchy skin, weight loss, and enlarged lymph nodes.
