  1. @By Grace I think?? your kids took these classes? I might be confusing you with someone else.
  2. I don't know if this will help anyone, but I saw it linked. https://thecollegeinvestor.com/43805/student-aid-index-sai-chart/?fbclid=IwAR3Z6jcn_zZ8NILYfL7kWR8MTmadCzYLduBvKU-O3O5PjwXBdGUgZT_3w_E
  3. That sounds exhausting, but I hope it gives your doctor the info he needs.
  4. I don't know if this is correct or not but on the FAFSA forums I have been on they said that you should disregard the SAIs until all FAFSA apps are processed and the stuff is sent out. @MagistraKennedy I would make sure you filled out the 2024 FAFSA.
  5. I have really struggled with getting rid of some things. I try to remind myself that paperbacks won't last forever. Sometimes that works. I have held onto some homeschooling curriculum with the idea my kids might want it one day (All about Spelling) but as it is, now all the tiles are an electronic app and who knows what the rest of it will be like by the time they have kids? I don't even know that my kids will live close to us, or that they will have kids.
  6. I still have ours too. My dad gave them to me. I don't know what to do with them.
  7. I am not sure I understand how this works--so instead of getting a lab order from the doctor you do this? Or you take the lab order from the doctor to a different lab? Thanks for clarifying. We would be grateful for anything we can do to cut costs.
  8. I'm really late responding and don't have real advice, but wanted to share about a situation I am aware of. My cousin's daughter likes to barrel race, and she ended up getting a vet tech certification and a pharmacy tech certification. She works part time at both. The main reason she has the vet tech certification is that she gets discounted vet care for her horses, plus she can do some care herself because of the training. It sounds like vet tech is a 2 year degree?
  9. @historically accurate and, if your sig is still accurate, you are like me, and are already commencing the stressing over the junior, but wishing that somehow you could wrap up the senior first. 😃 And since I have no idea day to day if my junior will be going to a 4 year school or not, we have not narrowed down schools or done school visits for my junior yet. I refuse to panic. 🤪
  10. I am so sorry!! Praying for your medical team and for you!
  11. I meant this thing. https://www.stopsarcoidosis.org/patient-navigator-program/ But if it is too much, I totally get it. It's the double-edged sword of feeling awful--in some ways you want more help but you also have zero energy or time to do it.
  12. When I have looked into it, the ones I looked at had a look back for medical issues of 3-5 years so that automatically disqualified us.
  13. @Melissa in Australia I am so sorry. This all sounds so very overwhelming. Did you ever reach out to that sarcoidosis org? I know life has been more than full. I wonder if you could get some support that way. You are experiencing some unique and very difficult symptoms. Sometimes compassion from someone who understands the disease is really needed. I so wish you all could have your lovely rural life and also a specialist 20 minutes away.
  14. Can you elaborate on this? Some schools seem to be better about communication in general. Or is this referring to something else? I would love to hear more. Thank you.
  15. I needed to read this because I think that may be us, especially given the delay with FAFSA which may in turn delay merit offers.
  16. Popping in to say we enjoyed the David Tennant version of Hamlet I started to watch his version (with Catherine Tate) of Much Ado and could not get through it. YMMV. It seems to have good reviews. It's cast in a more modern time than the Branaugh/Thompson version.
  17. Off topic, but there needs to be some sort of mom exchange for these things. Ex: Your kid is in Ireland? I am in Ireland and I have a autistic kid and I get it--I will go lay eyes on him to make sure he is okay--kind of thing. I have seen references to this on the allergy groups I am on--moms in the college city offer to help when the allergy kid is having a problem far away from home. They understand how scary it is to be miles away when your kid is having an allergic reaction. I know there are probably some who would balk at it--but honestly if my kid was that far away, it would give me a peace of mind.
  18. Sending prayers. Please update when you know more.
  19. It's true. Unfortunately that is something I have no control over. My husband intends to look for a new job, but the timeline and actuality of that falls on him. In the meantime, I am the one who pays the bills. You are totally right though. And if we hadn't paid $$$$ for medical stuff last year, this one larger bill wouldn't bother me so much.
  20. We have a high deductible plan so we don't have copays. The $330 is what we pay in this case and we pay full contracted price for testing, until we meet our deductible.
  21. Maybe I need to find a different pediatric nephrologist then
  22. Is there any reason I should not do this? My DS16 has a kidney doctor at Children's because of kidney stones. We met with him following my son's 24 hour litholink urine collection and he basically said to drink more water, eat less salt. The bill was $595, of which we must pay $303.45. It was maybe a 20 minute appointment. I just don't see the point. Couldn't we just go to a kidney doctor for adults? Thoughts?
