  1. The Hundred Dresses was one of the first books I read to the boys when we were schooling, and they really enjoyed it.
  2. For the long haul, consider finding a good naturopathic practitioner or dentist, to take care of any underlying causes. There may be deficiencies you can correct to prevent future problems. https://joettecalabrese.com/blog/homeopathy/cavities-try-homeopathy/
  3. I'm so sorry. Praying for all of you. Looks like some have made some good suggestions. Hopefully something will help.
  4. Just haven't heard of Kim Mitchell. Time to youtube. The song Jackie Blue takes me back to doing laps in the high school swimming pool. Every time.
  5. I've been to one that was an ice cream sundae theme, and that's what they put on the invites. Up here tho, they generally always have lots of food. Tacos in a bag are popular and lower cost, I think.
  6. If your youngest are of the same sex, I'd let them share a room. You get your own room when you get older. ;)
  7. If you could get a bank account with only you as the signer, and the account reads as Mom XXXXX c/o your name, that would be a big help. You can have ss or other income going directly into the account. You might need to go visit and literally go through the bills and get them put on auto withdrawal, but that would make life easier. The hard part would be getting cash to her regularly. Would she be okay with a prepaid charge card or bank card for a separate account that you could transfer money into regularly?
  8. My very elderly dad broke his leg, had surgery and was transferred to a nursing home for rehab. Now he's been transferred to another one. It's time to start getting on his leg again. But-- all the changes and/or some meds that doctors have decided he will have despite my mom arguing against them, have left dad very confused and sometimes a bit belligerent. Has anyone dealt with this? We're trying to figure out what options are if he can't focus enough to do the needed therapies, or if the confusion doesn't clear and becomes a permanent thing. Scary times. Looking for advise from those w
  9. Looked through the book tonight. I have an eggroll recipe marked up, and some of Melanie in WA's bread recipes.
  10. I still have it! I have a cherry blueberry pie recipe in there.
  11. We provide a small fridge and stove, a sink, small microwave, coffee maker- there's coffee if you want to make it, water cooler, place to sit and eat. The girls also have filled a couple shelves in the cabinet with their mugs and some drink/lunch supplies. There are also paper plates and plastic silverware, as sometimes I bring in breakfast for everyone. Most weeks a salesman brings in donuts or other food items that are for everyone. We sometimes have soft drinks left from a company event.
  12. It still does. This is the week for it! :)
  13. The water bottle needs to be empty. You'll have to fill it later.
  14. Box up what you haven't used in a while and stack the boxes in the garage. If you don't miss having the items taking up space and/or haven't used them in 6 or 12 months, odds are you can just haul them away!
  15. I just made one of my dh's favorites-- Round steak roll ups. I wish a cow had more round steaks! lol Round Steak Roll Ups 2 1/2- 3 lbs round steak 6 slices bacon, each cut in half 2 dill pickles, each cut in 6 wedges 2 tbsp lard or bacon drippings 1/4 c flour mixed with 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper Cut 12 into 12 uniform pieces. Pound with a mallet or edge of a saucer to flatten each thoroughly. On each piece place 1/2 slice of bacon and a pickle wedge. Roll up and fasten each with a toothpick or two. Dredge each roll up in the flour mix and brown in ho
  16. The handouts from my kids programs for the last ton of years, coconut oil, and some stuff I can't recall because I never use it. lol
  17. 1 ounce isn't much cream cheese!
  18. The orzo worked! I didn't get to taste it, but I didn't hear anyone ask about the switch. ;) I think Uncle Ben's rice starts out a bit bigger than long grain rice. Maybe it will just cook up a little faster?? I would guess it shouldn't matter in a crockpot. Try it at home with a single batch once!
  19. Spanish Rice- I double it to fill my crockpot 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained 1 med onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1 14 ½ oz can tomatoes 1 16 oz can tomato sauce ¾ c water 2 tsp chili powder 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 ½ tsp salt ¾ c rice, converted; raw (Uncle Ben’s) Stir all ingredients together. Cover and cook on low 7-9 hrs (High for 3 hrs, then switch to low for the remaining time.) I actually made it with orzo instead of rice once when I was sick. Lol And I heard the meat made a big difference over the meatle
  20. I'd probably get a Lego set with a Skittles bag for a bow. :)
  21. I get the kids the items I don't buy during the rest of the year: Jif peanut butter for one, PopTarts for another. A family bag of Fruit Loops.
  22. A crockpot Spanish rice with hamburger in it. I've been asked for the recipe several times.
