  1. For docs, I enjoyed Somewhere Between about American girls that had been adopted from China.
  2. If you like stuff like North and South, you might like Little Dorit (sp?) - I watched it on Netflix a while back, it's gone from Canadian Netflix though, so not sure if it's still in the US.
  3. For pain relief, I suggest doing a web search for homeopathic remedies for tooth pain and then check out the comparison charts. I have had intense dental pain relieved in a couple of minutes with the right remedy. This should give you relief until your next dental procedure.
  4. I would have gotten it right. I've been to a ceilidh before as they are common where we live. My daughter is Mairead. (rhymes with parade)
  5. My SIL was planning to spell her baby's name Eli. No, not short for Elijah, she had a girl, pronounced Ellie. Thankfully, her MIL influenced her to spell it differently.
  6. Is there a quick way to make the facts stick? We've tried multiplication songs, but they all sounded the same. We just got wrap ups, hoping that will help and we have a flash master. For some reason nothing seems to be working for one of my kids. And should we do division facts at the same time as X? Any tips?
  7. (((hugs))) I haven't figured out how to balance my needs with my kids' needs for me, but I see lots of great tips in this thread. Are your kids old enough to stay home alone yet? Can you duck out in the morning for a drive to the nearest coffee shop? Sometimes, that 20 minutes helps me to feel a bit ready for the day. Sometimes, *sigh*
  8. You must have something that she wants, because she is insecure around you for a reason and IME, it's usually jealousy based. ((((hugs)))). It is so tedious when you just want to enjoy someone's company when they would rather play games.
  9. A preprinted "to do list style" notepad. It says CRAP in big letters at the top and has places to write "crap to do", "crap to buy" and "other crap" and a 1-5 crappiness scale to rate your list and a box to check when you're all crapped out.
  10. My kids don't like taking pills, so I use Root Beer Belly (root beer flavored probiotic sprinkles) with two of them and Triple Treat Chocolate (probiotic chocolate) with the one who doesn't like root beer.
