  1. I know this doesn't answer your question but what about an iPhone SE? They're easily under 200 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Last year we went about 8 months without internet/TV/smartphones and it was a wonderful experience, we are tempted to do it again... It was like when the power goes out and all of a sudden you're reading books and playing board games again... I went to the library a few times a week for bills and email checks. Just answering your first question, I have no clue if it will help your son though [emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. also, because we have to stay under a strict dollar figure the only things we are being particular about are the structural things that can't be changed later, like ceiling heights. The finish is just going to be builder grade because we hope to update finishes later in life... deciding on nicer finishes now would put us over budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. My DH is like yours and could personally build the entire house himself... as far as skill and knowledge go. But we specifically chose not to have him be the GC on our current home build because of his poor financial planning skills. Honestly, he's horrible with money. He doesn't budget good, and he spends lots on very unnecessary things (while at the time claiming they are very necessary) In our case I could see the budget getting blown etc... but if you are better at that part than us I'd say you're gonna be ok [emoji1362] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Praying for a miracle!!! [emoji175][emoji175][emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This is us too... I am born and raised PNW and my husband is from Arizona... I wonder if that has something to do with it [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If there's a chance it's viral then the antibiotics won't help, and you're still contagious with those symptoms [emoji17] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. In our experience it was far more affordable to build than buy what we need. We sold our home in a neighborhood last year for 300,000 and will be building a bigger home on 5 acres for a final mortgage of 235,000. All houses (crappy, small, even manufactured homes) on five acres here are 400,000-600,000. So though the process is SO HARD, building is so worth it. But only if you have somewhere to live in the meantime. ETA: when we got our house ready to sell i decided to move the heck out first. It was so hard to clean and stage and paint with kids and animals running around. We would take turns going in the evenings and it was actually kind of nice to have some alone time and paint Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What a terribly frightening experience for you all, praying for the best possible outcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. We lived in the country in the PNW, and while there were tons of opportunities in our community, we seriously did nothing... my mom homeschooled all four of us, we had a few best friends from church/homeschooling and we just hung out with them when we weren't at home. I was bothered by it when I became a teen. I realized all the things other kids had been doing and wished my parents had signed us up for more stuff... I hated sports and was super shy and for some reason I thought it was my parents fault for keeping us home. Turns out I actually do hate sports, I am an extreme introvert and would have been miserable in any activity... I did actually take piano lessons for several years but quit cause the recitals just about killed me with anxiety. Now that I have four of my own kids... living in my childhood community, I know why my parents didn't sign us up for anything. They were poor!! Duh! We are now in the same position, I feel extreme guilt for not putting my kids in the programs that they're interested in.. soccer, TaiKwonDo... etc... but we do not make enough money to pay for any of that [emoji17] my kids are incredibly happy and fulfilled regardless, and Im totally not impressed with the super busy and commited life that our friends have with older kids In sports etc So really, I'm good with what we're doing 🤣 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I wore hand me downs, thrifted and super cheap new shoes my whole life.. my kids are SO rough on their shoes, they spend their entire days in the woods and digging tunnels and making mud pits year round... so we shop at the thrift store, or Wal Mart and if they even survive the first kid we definitely pass them down... luckily I have all boys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It goes both ways... Americans take pictures of cute little Asian beggars in the streets all the time, they probably thought it was culturally acceptable because they see tourists in their home countries doing then same things.. Agreeing with you though that it's awful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My son of the exact same age has the same problem, we are using Reading Made Easy and he can't get past the first lesson, where he listens to me read two words and pick which one has the short "a" sound in the middle... however my approach with all my kids has always been to close the curriculum and come back later... which is what my plan is with his reading. 14. I gained exactly 50 pounds with my first three pregnancies, and all of it during the second half after the worst of my HG had passed. I felt the same insatiable hunger that you describe. For my fourth pregnancy I was 100% gluten and sugar/sweetener free. I only gained 35 pounds that time, I still ate a lot, but felt more satisfied with my choices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Oh my... How disappointing [emoji22] I took high school ceramics and it was awesome, it was set up for true beginners. We started with the absolute basics... like talking about different clays and we didn't TOUCH the wheel until we knew how to knead the air bubbles out... I would be inclined to write a thorough review (even if anonymously!!) just so they know there is a need for an actual "beginner" level class... because you could SO enjoy ceramics if you were properly taught [emoji175][emoji175] And don't even get me started on the time wasted during show and tell [emoji35] you PAID for that time, you should have been learning and practicing instead... 16. Here's me In the one I own from Amazon, I think it's the last one you posted a link to. I am 5'8" and these aren't skinny jeans, just cuffed boyfriend jeans (tho not as loose fitting as some people wear them) (pardon the smudgy mirror, I tried cleaning it first lol) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So depending on how tall you are, those tshirt dresses on amazon aren't super long, and I'm the lone voice here that says I think they'd look great with jeans!! I actually own one of them and wear it with jeans all the time. I wear skinny jeans and I think that makes it work for me, but I also have seen dresses with boot leg jeans and flare jeans that also look awesome. But you have to try it and see if it works for your body type. I'm the kind of person that HATES social style standards (or whatever it's called) I don't follow trends... I wear what I like. Here are some examples I found on Pinterest, the ones you linked are all similar length as these: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. No you are not dense, this class sucks and I would tell them so and ask for your money back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The year hasn't even started and I already want to quit :crying: I am having my son finish up his TT4 so we can start somewhat close to on schedule with TT5... and I am remembering why he never finished last year in the first place.... every time he starts a lesson something goes wrong! Usually the lesson freezes mid-lesson. We restart the computer and he can go on... but sometimes we try 4-5 times before quitting because it just doesn't work.. we eventually let him quit math for the summer because we just couldn't get it working again. Is this a computer problem? Or a disk problem (I bought the TT4 second hand)? The computer is less than a year old, I bought it last fall brand new, but we've had this problem off and on all year. The computer is a SUPER CHEAP one, (the DELL Inspiron 3252), and gives me other problems often, usually just with internet connectivity. Any techie people have advice for me?? Do I need to buy a new computer?! And if so, which one? (Also... yes I am aware we could just switch to the workbook of TT, but for both of my kids using it, the computer aspect of it is the only reason I don't have battles with math. They love it, it is the only subject they LOVE, and I need to keep it this way.)
  20. Good for you [emoji175] I deleted mine between Nov and Jan [emoji102][emoji51] And I lost a lot of our connections to social activities (homeschooling and church) but my two BFFs always remember to keep me informed, here's hoping you have a friend or two to keep you in the know [emoji175] ETA: i meant to say, my life has had so much more peace than I realized I was missing, My life is so much better for it!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. My heart aches painfully for the people in his land, who will likely be the innocent victims when "someone" retaliates.... (I don't know who that "someone" is... but it's coming someday) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I can't believe how many people say this is normal [emoji44] I'd suggest looking into Adrenal Fatigue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yep we've slept six in one room several times, but those rooms have always had two queen beds, once we even paid $15 for a rollaway bed and had plenty of room! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My heart hurts for you, I'm so so sorry [emoji174] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Do you use something that you love that helps you age gracefully??! I'm seeing my years show up on my face and as much as I love the idea of embracing my age... I'm getting there faster than my DH and it's making me nervous [emoji51] I'd love to try a wrinkle cream/anti aging cream that doesn't break the bank!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
