  1. just checking out the venue and laughed at the main picture on the page
  2. We are actually pretty close to this family, the other three of their kids got married out of state and of course we couldn't go. So for years we've joked with them about when "cousin" gets married we can finally go because it's 45 minutes away... thankfully no hotels and MIL can't wait to have them over for a sleepover 🙂 love this... thanks, helps me in my decision also love this I think I'm going to browse for an affordable button up shirt and slacks for him (no he doesn't own any!) and I have planned to borrow a dress from a friend 🙂
  3. My cousin is getting married. Our dads are brothers (and opposites), Uncle is a multi millionaire and hangs in "those circles" my dad is a redneck boat builder that raised us in a double wide trailer because he spent more money helping others in need than on his house lol. We love our relatives, they are good people. We are super happy about the wedding. So... it's like a half million dollar evening wedding. No kids or infants. Dress code is cocktail attire. We do not own cocktail attire. My older brother is already not going... his joke was "I drink plenty of cocktails wearing this!" (greasy carharts and a t-shirt). We just finished building a house and are pretty broke, we already don't plan on a big Christmas for the kids... the wedding is next month. I can't afford a thing on the registry (not one). So I am really resistant to the idea of shopping for new outfits that we will never wear again. My husband put his foot down and refuses to go if he has to wear a suit. I can convince him to go if I can find something else for him to wear. This area is SO unfamiliar to me. I don't know what to do. The bride and her mother are "intense" My uncle emailed me (a week before the RSVPs were due!) and asked if we could please RSVP cause the mother of the bride was "pretty hyper" about all this and they were trying to keep her calm... So if my cousin the groom is chill about it... that doesn't mean the bride and her mom will be 🤐 Outfit ideas??? Google shows suits suits and more suits
  4. I am resurrecting this thread because this is what I am interested in. I'm investigating credit cards with airmiles as the reward so my family of 6 can start to travel. May I ask what is the best card you've found to do this with? (Do you have a blog where you share your tricks and "travel hack" skills? Only kind of kidding LOL)
  5. okay, very good to know! I will keep just the stuff I really need of my own product (I'm an ingredient snob lol) and plan on buying stuff there. Actually if I skip the sunscreen and get some there the rest of the stuff will fit... staying in a condo so no samples ? So now I'm curious about how she gets away with the packing liquids rule.. maybe she's just been lucky... hmmm THANK YOU!!!
  6. After 12 years of motherhood, and only 2 separate nights away from my kids... EVER. My best girlfriend is taking me to Hawaii for 5 nights ? (she travels frequently and gets killer deals) Anyhow... we are packing only carry-ons which is no biggie because I rock at light packing. But I am stumped by the liquids rule! On the TSA website it stresses that each passenger is allowed only ONE quart size bag with all your liquids inside (of course in 3.4oz containers) I have just a few more small items than fit inside one quart size baggie! Is this seriously enforced? My friend does TSA precheck, where they don't make you take your liquids out so she says she never sticks to the one baggie rule and never gets stopped. But I am afraid to pack an extra quart size bag of liquids and have them make me throw something away! LOL (I will be going through the standard, slow check in line). Any of you seasoned travelers have advice?
  7. My cousin is getting married. I've scoured his wedding gift registries and decided on buying a shower curtain LOL. They had 57 items, 5 had already been purchased, and of the 52 left 3 had been marked "most needed" the shower curtain was one of those three "most needed" items, so that's what I bought. But.. I want to add something to make it a little more special. What would you add? I thought of maybe a lovely candle and a special scented bar of soap... or? What? I made sure there were no other bathroom items on their registry. And of the three registries that they have there was not one other bathroom item listed. Not even the "already fulfilled" items. So I guess they don't need towels ideas? TIA

  9. He passed! [emoji1373] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you all so much! To clarify how the test works, it’s not a paper test. He has to perform actual skills on the dump truck, examining the entire truck, and doing some air break checks and also drive it around town. He and I did exactly that several times every day this week which is why I know he could pass. He wishes I were going because I put him at ease, and the instructors make his anxiety worse. So there’s no way around the test... only one way to take it. I will talk to him about the visualization! That actually sounds like a really good tip. Thank you all again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. He took the written test six months ago,and passed on his second try after watching YouTube videos haha... learns well that way [emoji5]This is the pre-trip skills and driving Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Well, I never thought I’d be doing this but here we go.. DH is taking his CDL test this weekend. After failing his first try we realized he needed MAJOR help studying. So the kids get the week off and I’m cramming with him in a desperate attempt to help him succeed. He never passed a single test in school. His resource room teacher let him graduate at age 20 partly in pity and partly because she knew the school just didn’t meet him where he was at. He’s actually pretty darn smart. Very smart. He’s an expert in any field he’s interested in. EXPERT. But if you put a test in front of him he shuts down. Total anxiety. Brain turns off and he fails. So help me! If I were his instructor, he could pass the CDL test today. I’ve gone over it with him several times at his job on the big trucks. So he’s capable of passing, but afraid he’ll bomb the test. He only gets one try. Do you have any testing tips? Other than fervent prayer? (Which I’ll take any you have to offer [emoji175]) TIA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Wow, that’s so exciting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If I can leave the kids with DH then I recharge by slowly strolling through a thrift store, then an antique store, then maybe a small local art museum. Followed by a quiet meal by myself eating whatever amazing food I crave that my family hates lol If I’m stuck at home with kids, then I make a trip to the store and grab some indulgent foods, put a movie on for them/put them in bed, and then binge stuff on Netflix. I’m simple [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. yes, unfortunately it's super hard to find used, even partially written in well... yes, I could do that, but it sounds like so much work  one of my favorite things is for this kid, Math is pretty independent which is one less thing for me to spend time on...
  16. My son just finished MUS Primer, and like his brothers before him I was just going to move him to Alpha, but right now it is so expensive, especially for how quickly he's whizzing through the pages. The learning style works for him so I don't want to completely change that part up, but is there something cheaper that I can still use the C-rods with? It does not need to coordinate with the lecture DVD obviously. We quit using those a long time ago. For what it's worth, we only use MUS Primer and Alpha and then move to TT3 after that. Thanks
  17. We’ve had snow in March and clear 70 degree days... but average is just “mild†Maybe wet, maybe gray, maybe partly sunny... just pack a jacket and you’ll be good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. I feed it to my chickens and then it comes back to me as eggs [emoji1362]and then I don't feel wasteful Unless it's junk food (which we rarely buy) I don't feel guilty throwing that away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ha! That's great, my boys are Bigfoot enthusiasts... in fact, I'm sitting next to one who's currently watching Harry and the Hendersons [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My almost nine year old is also rarely dry and beginning Jan 1 we are going dairy free (all those dairy filled holiday treats [emoji21]) Dairy makes the most sense for us with family history and it's also the one I've heard is the more likely culprit. But I am super interested in hearing the experience of others! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ahhhh, didn't know that's what it was called! My grandpa and his brother married sisters but it was later in life so his wife is my step grandma and they have no kids Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I know this doesn't answer your question but what about an iPhone SE? They're easily under 200 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
