I do teach cursive. It does have it's value but I don't see the big deal if you don't teach cursive. I'm 35 and have never had to use it with the exception of signing something (and when we learned it in elementary school). I usually end up writing so fast it's a print/cursive combination anyways, it hasn't ruined me. :tongue_smilie:
Alte Veste Academy - I love your ideas, they sound great! Thanks for sharing all that. :)
I have two older dc who are rising 6th and 8th graders that I decided to use the OM syllabus with the Glencoe Text as a spine and add in some other books and your ideas. I think I'm just going to end up using that as my guide for my rising 1st and 3rd graders. They won't read the text or anything I'll just use it to keep them on the same topics with other resources. I might purchase Expedition Earth for the projects. I think they will love it, I knew I was going to end up having to put it together myself mind as well just accept it. ;)
I've been looking for a World Geography/Cultures curriculum for the upcoming school year and haven't come across anything in my searches for my rising 1st and 3rd graders.
Thanks!
If he's doing World History right now I think something else would be better. What about Core F Eastern Hemisphere? I think that would also be better if he's doing all the reading independently.
Besides sneakers my two pre-teen girls wear boots, flats, converse, moccasins, flip flops, sandals and dress shoes (some with a heel). We have to many shoes. <_<
Hope I'm putting this in the right place. When I click my username and try to go to "my settings" I keep getting an error message and saying I don't have permission for it.
Am I doing something wrong?
We've been using MM along with other supplements. My 7 year old is flying through it and just finished 4A. It isn't challenging him at all though and I think he's getting bored with it. He loves Beast Academy and Life of Fred which he's also doing.
Has anyone made this switch? Are you happy with it? Is Singapore more challenging then MM?
Thanks!
