  1. This is the paperback Narnia collection we have. http://www.amazon.com/The-Chronicles-Narnia-C-Lewis/dp/0066238501/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393460148&sr=8-1&keywords=the+chronicles+of+narnia As for Iliad/Odyssey, I know there is a lot of debate about which version is best. I found Lattimore to be the translation I wanted. http://www.amazon.com/The-Odyssey-Homer/dp/006124418X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393460335&sr=8-1&keywords=odyssey+lattimore
  2. I would pick (and hopefully you will accept me lumping some together ;) The Bible The Chronicles of Narnia (mine is a one book collection) Iliad/Odyssey The Lord of the Rings (mine is a one volume edition) The Hobbit Sorry for cheating :)
  3. Wonderful post! May God richly bless you and your family in this next year! May He guide your heart and your mind as you continue on the path only He can have in store for you!
  4. Today, my dh just recalled when we moved here to CO that the lady doing our title paperwork mentioned it. She said it was important since our house is in his name only. So, he thought we should make sure we have a will since I have no income.
  5. My dh just brought up that we should have a will for him. I know nothing on the subject. Can we do this on our own or do we need a lawyer? Is it costly with a lawyer? And good websites with pointers? Thanks!
  6. I was excited when I saw it awhile back at Barnes and Noble. I sat and flipped through it and I was not impressed enough to buy another Bible. I did not feel like it wowed me, which is saying a lot because I have a book addiction ;)
  7. I am so glad you asked this. We were leather couch shopping and the only set I liked out of all the places we looked was cream. And of course it can not be ordered in any other color. My mom thought I was nuts that I was even considering it. I thought about stains coming out, etc but I never thought about just over all dinginess . Glad I looked at this thread :)
  8. I have used it for a facial moisturizer and now a face wash. But consuming it was a disaster for me. I put a tbsp in a cup of hot tea and drank it. Then about a half hour later I had to stop reading to the kids because I was getting stomach cramps. Cramps turned in to dry heaving and then diarrhea. It was a nightmare for a few hours. I looked it up online and I guess it is a common response. I would like to give it another try in a smaller quantity but I am worried I will have the same response. Sorry for the tmi ;)
  9. I am prone to clogged milk ducts. I had a bad case of mastitis with baby #2 and then have had other clogged milk ducts along the way. I started with this duct on Friday and I woke up Saturday with 102 fever and the whole flu thing from it. I wanted to die ;) And steadily got better yesterday. The problem is my bre@st is still so sore and I believe clogged. I have tried everything. I have been taking lecithin, using heating pad constantly, nursing from all various positions, my poor dh has even generously attempted to help get it out, massaging, hot showers, Advil. My doctor called in an antibiotic yesterday but I didn't start it because I am trying to avoid it, but I guess I might have to cave in. Well, I am just wondering if it could be getting better since I do not have the fever and flu symptoms anymore. Or if I am headed for an abcess? Should I start the antibiotic? I just can't believe it has been clogged for this long. I have never had one this bad, it is crazy. Any thoughts?
  10. I have on the same type of clothes I wear when he is off. I wear under armour pants pretty much everyday as well as a fitted tee with a zip fleece if I am cold. My new look :) I know I am lucky in my sporty clothes that he says I am so beautiful to him almost every day!
  11. My ds has read almost all of the science books by Tiner. I have made up our own science studies for this year. I saw the Tiner books in the Memoria Press curriculum. He has thoroughly enjoyed all the ones he has read. He constantly comes and states facts he learned and talks about them at a later date. That is the sign of a great book for curriculum!
  12. No, we don't. I got through to someone and they said it looks like ours got selected for random review. I figure it is because our refund is over $11,000. I thought that might be a lot, but who knows. Either way I think it is terrible to have quoted a refund of today all this time and then today change it to some vague response. Ugh!
  13. I am totally annoyed this morning. Wheres my refund has said our refund would be deposited today. I woke up and checked and we do not have it. So, I logged in to wheres my refund and now it says "take action" and that my expected return date may have changed. So, I call the number it says and reference the number it says and the rep has no clue or no information and just said you only had it accepted Jan 30th. You need to allow 3 weeks processing. My response, then why has it told us all this time our refund was to be deposited today. Ugh, how annoying and then for them to give no other information is ridiculous.
  14. Praying! Our awesome God will provide!
  15. We had issues with Turbotax last year when they changed the 1099 format for capital gains/losses. I was totally frustrated and had no idea how to fix it and the software just kept bumping me around and the customer service was terrible and told me to call our investment company. Some one on here raved about Taxact and I looked in to it and filed with them then. Had no issue and everything easily went in correctly the first time by using their prompts for the investments. Taxact walks you through everything I feel much easier, but also in a more simplified manner. It goes back over everything and double checks at each section and actually gave me a red flag for something and helped me fix my error. It does input info year to year and this year they sent me a notice in the fall to lock in my price then. So, I paid 13.95 for state and federal including inputting info in to both. I know Turbotax is more for the level Taxact is naturally without upgrading. Last year, I contacted customer service and there was no wait time and they were kind and helpful. Look in to it. I feel they are definitely superior for the price.
  16. I received text messages first. At the end it asked for choices for notification and I had selected my mobile phone as one. I did also receive emails from Taxact after as well. My emails did not end up in spam, but hopefully yours did. I would not worry.
  17. My ds has been using Uncle Sam and You. I have been impressed. We are on the second book for the year (it is divided in to two text books). I decided to throw it in as extra with our Sonlight history, so ds was studying US history too. Surprisingly, it is the only book where he often will come and tell me a fact he learned or show me a picture. I wasn't sure about adding the literature books in since we are doing Sonlight, but I am so happy we did because my ds has really enjoyed the books selected. I do not assign all the different choices for work. Of the assignment options we do the literature, I have the question/test book, and I have him do the fact finding questions which are great quick little research items for him. My ds does all of it independently. I have been thrilled with Uncle Sam and You, a nice addition to our history studies. I know they are textbookish, but the pictures and attention to detail in selecting the pictures really adds to it. Notgrass is great and I plan to incorporate something from them next year. I was thinking Economics and started a thread on here last week but got no reviews. I just do not think they are as well known.
  18. We filed. I used Taxact, which I absolutely love. In the past I always used turbotax. Last year someone suggested Taxact and I switched and was so grateful. I love how much more help it offered me for capital gains/losses. Our return was accepted early and our refund is due to be deposited this Friday. I was super ecstatic, even though the big sum was basically a free loan to the government all this time.
  19. Gosh, the Budweiser commercial with the puppy and horse was super cute!
  20. We liked the Radio Shack commercial. But otherwise not any standouts for me. I feel like there are so many car commercials.
  21. Cool article. I had never heard of the pencils before, but guess who now wants to order some ;)
  22. I would like to use this with my ds next year as an extra study. Any one used it and have any feedback for me? I know it says high school, but I thought he would be fine with it for 8th grade. My ds used Notgrass Uncle Sam and You as an extra this year and really enjoyed it.
  23. We really enjoyed Samurai's Tale, but obviously not a modern selection.
  24. Now that you mention it, I think the dentist did say you can do the root canal through a crown. But I would assume that is not ideal.
