University of Nebraska High School Online
danybug replied to danybug's topic in High School and Self-Education Board
Thank you for explaining more for me Lanny! I appreciate you taking the time! RootAnn thank you for your points and giving me more options to look into. Thanks for letting me know SWB is still recommending UNHS. Off to look into the other choices ;) -

Thank you for the response! Would you mind elaborating on that more? We will be completely new to online school work. -
Classical Academic Press made my day ...
danybug replied to Five More Minutes's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I have called Classical Academic Press and had amazing customer service as well. And the customer service representative checked back in with me after as well. Excellent customer service really does mean a lot in todays retail environment. -
Saxon math users -- favorite edition?
danybug replied to littleacorns's topic in Logic Stage & Middle Grade Challenges
I will link Art Reed's site and his newsletter, which goes over which editions to select. I always refer to his resources. He talks about editions in the April 2013 entree under newsletter. http://www.homeschoolwithsaxon.com/newsletterpage-2013.php#0413 -

Plz share what you know about natural stuff to do to "heal" teeth?
danybug replied to Mango's topic in The Chat Board
I love Bass toothbrushes. I was directed to the Orawellness site, from the wellness mama website. I really love the Orawellness Healthy Mouth Blend, but I am not sure your ds will since he already has had issues with tastes of pastes and all. But checkout the website there are a bunch of great natural resources on it. And the toothbrushes are great! -
Maybe a firmer memory foam? Our bed is the basic Temperpedic model (which I swear by ;), which means it is firmer and not "cloud" like. One ds has a more expensive model that is very pillowy and I can see that style being an issue for you. I am so sorry you have to deal with a bed hurting you :( The things we can take for granted.

Infant car seat or Convertible car seat for newborn?
danybug replied to acsnmama's topic in The Chat Board
With my babies, I had the first two in infant seats, my third in convertible and this babe in infant. So, I think I would say if you were trying to save money I would pick convertible. The only plus for me was for baby to stay asleep in the infant seat, but my guy never stayed asleep long anyway. And if you could just transition to the wrap anyway it won't be a big deal. I HATE how heavy the infant seat is and how it throws my back and hip off lugging it. For my newest guy, I was lucky my 13 yo ds or my dh always did the hauling ;) -
We love the D3 spray from Garden of Life Kind Organics. It is organic plant based. The spray has a vanilla flavor. Everyone in the family likes to spray the D3 and chase it with the b12 spray which is some kind of berry :)

All natural health people...need non synthetic, vitamin recomendations
danybug replied to Jenrae's topic in The Chat Board
I am absolutely thrilled with the new vitamins from Garden of Life called Kind Organics. I bought multiples of each type recently from Whole Foods. We love the B12 spray and Vitamin D3 spray. I take the prenatal and we have the calcium and the men's vitamins. They are the only vitamin that is organic and completely plant based. I was over the moon when I read an article interviewing Alicia Silverstone about how she worked with Garden of Life to create the first vitamin of its type. The vitamins are amazing in my book! My dh thought I was silly how excited I was to find them. -
Dr Hive - what can you tell me about bulging discs
danybug replied to Truscifi's topic in The Chat Board
I am sorry you are facing all of this so young. I am sure it is very discouraging. I have some disc issues and the chiropractor makes a world of difference for me. I have always been pro chiropractor, but now more than ever. Maybe give it a try to help maintain things and improve what can be improved. I also take the supplement MSM, which is suppose to be helpful. I know my suggestions are nothing major but every little thing might add up to make a difference :) -
Going to the American Girl is never a good idea ;) But we were at the mall today, that has the store at it. And today just happened to be the debut of the Beforever line (historical line renamed). So…we are now the proud owners of Samantha! My dd was beyond thrilled. As I told my dh, you can't leave the store without the original American Girl doll…lol! The Beforever line has new outfits that are super cute for the historical dolls. All the historical books have real girls on the front now and I think they said each girl has a new book. I realize it is totally a money making move to make the historical dolls more hip and appealing. There are now outfits for the girls that match the historical girls, which is cute. My dd got the beautiful sweater that matches Kaya. Anyway, thought I would share Samantha is officially in stores :)

After 9/11 for a small period of time I had panic attacks. They were so awful because I couldn't "control" them. Just the idea and fear of thinking a symptom was starting would make me have one. I found I could manage it if I would lay down close my eyes and I would listen to ocean waves I had on cd of soothing sounds. I would need to let my physical symptoms subside and try to shut down my over active thoughts from escalating it. I started to stress about having one outside of home so I did start the lowest dose of Lexapro for 6 months and then one day I told myself I can handle this now and stopped medication and never had another attack. I am sorry you are having them. Try to unwind and find something that will help calm you as your body starts that fight or flight response so you can at least "manage" the attack the best you can. Best of luck!

We have our morning meeting and I have a large gap. My 13 yo, 7yo and 4yo all participate. For today we just had a prayer, prayer requests, we memorized our morning time motto, started memorizing a prayer, a devotional reading, one Proverb a day with discussion and then a few stories out of Daulaires Norse myths. As we finish up each thing I have more things planned to add. Obviously some was over my 4yo head for sure and my oldest was a whiz at memorizing, but everyone participated happily together. I think it is also a great opportunity for my oldest to be there active with his siblings potentially being helpful and patient. I plan on utilizing my oldest to research and share some things with us all on some days like presidential facts. We do a read aloud all together every day already, so I guess this time doesn't seem that foreign to them. And when dad came home today and we talked about morning time they a equally had things to share, which made me happy :)

Recovery for removal of two already-erupted wisdom teeth with short roots?
danybug replied to G5052's topic in The Chat Board
Don't worry! I had each side done at different times. Most recently (May) I had my right side done. I was so stressed in the chair, but only got the a little novacane. I took Advil back to back. I am nursing so I didn't want to take any pain pills, but honestly I never felt like I needed it. I was eating regular food albeit on one side and my regular routine the next day. I just felt a dash run down that evening and the next day. Good luck it will be easy peasy! -
I totally agree!!! Sounds like a perfect plan for me! Best wishes for you! You totally got this! What a blessed mama you already are and you are going to have such joy seeing this new little babe!

Does this question from a potential eBay buyer sound like a scam?
danybug replied to J-rap's topic in The Chat Board
I guess it wouldn't really matter if the email was a scam, because you would just wait for payment. Once you got it, then you could send it. I would guess it is because they really want it and would prefer it to be over and done with so they offered you the buy it now offer. Good for you :) -
She would love this! We bought her a portable cd player at Christmas to listen to all her audio books on cd from the library. I didn't even think about how she could have some on the iPad too.

Thanks for the responses! I am getting it for dd to basically play apps on when she is allowed to get it out. That is why I wondered if it was something worth investing in the more expensive. I have a 5S iPhone and I did not even realize it is a retina display. See how up I am on tech specs ;) The difference between the two minis will be around $120 I think. Still worth it?
