  1. Hello - Thank you for your replies. Those links were invaluable. Sadly, Amazon doesn't stock them, and not all the suppliers seem to have the full range of Mind Benders - what does everyone else use in the UK?
  2. Hello Can anyone advise where to buy Logic books, Mindbenders or others, from the UK? Thanks.
  3. Thanks for sharing all this, everyone. It was so helpful to read. Im on a Boundaries book-reading marathon right now.
  4. No, its not better, its just the method that your tongue is most used to, almost like tongue twisters!
  5. Witty Gal, I just adore your blog. Thanks for sharing you world with us! <<<BIG HUGS>>>
  6. Thanks so much for this Bill, it was very informative! I have also found the first book throwing them into the deep end with logic (patterns), however, there is also a lot of good stuff there.
  7. Thanks for that explanation Bill. I was wondering why it had a "different feel" to it.... yet it does look very conventional. Can you explain the ways in which it is not? And thanks to StephanieF for the UK link! That's a great help!
  8. A-ha! moment over here! Oxford Dictionary of English: Math: mass noun, N Amer. Mathematics Maths: plural noun, [treated as sing.] Brit. Mathematics "We just call it maths!"
  9. Highereducation, It says on their website that you need to send off a stamped address envelope for the password. Shall I just email them anyway? What did you say, that you were home schooling? Thanks once again for all the help.
  10. Wow thanks Debra! Thats the 2nd WTM from Scotland! Where are the English?!
  11. Laura, where did you get your Singapore Maths from in the UK? I cant seem to find it in any of the online shops.
  12. Does MEP have answers to the questions? Edited: Please ignore - I found them on the lesson plans! Sorry!
  13. Thanks everyone for your speedy replies. MEP looks really good - is it all free to use? It seems a bit unbelievable! Galore Park's Maths - Is that "So you really want to learn Maths" ? I got Book 1 (formally Maths Prep) for 10 yr olds for about £12, it turns out it needs another additional CD which has printable worksheets (not a great deal, say two or three per chapter) FOR A WHOPPING £30 - I was wondering if I should really invest in it?
  14. Can anyone recommend a good Maths curriculum for the UK? I was reading on an American Maths Curriculum website, that Americans do things in a different way. I know that in the US, the times tables are normally taught as: 2 x 1 = 2 2 x 2 = 4 2 x 3 = 6 Whereas in the UK we teach it: 1 x 2 =2 2 x 2 = 4 3 x 2 = 6 I spotted some other differences, such as in long multiplication, for which reason I would like to know what programs are available in the UK market? Many thanks,
