It sounds like the only brainwashing your daughter is experiencing is coming from you. I am so sad for these children that are going to graduate homeschool and essentially know nothing about functioning in the world. It seems some homeschoolers walk a fine line between homeschooling and child abuse. :(

Those look yummy! I just have brown rice flour, rice flour, potato starch, and corn starch so far. I have a couple of bread recipes that call for millet flour and sorghum flour and those were going to be my next purchases and I think I'll add almond flour to the list.

No big weekend plans here. I'm doing my duty as a good citizen by teaching myself to like wine. I tried a glass of chocolate cherry wine tonight which wasn't too bad. I tried a glass of some sort of sweet pear wine the other night which was awful. Poor me, I will just have to sample different wines until I figure out what I like. :D

I just read the first page but wanted to go ahead and respond. I would be super positive with him and buy him a guitar with lessons plus cooking lessons. Do you have homeschool cooking lessons where you live? He definitely sounds depressed and possibly ADD. I'd get him into a psychiatrist and on a trial of antidepressants. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain from trying the AD's. This probably sounds strange coming from me but I'd try CLE or ACE pacs for LA and math. Drop everything else. The rest is gravy right now. The small workbooks might break it up better and not be so overwhelming. Try to be 150% positive with him right now and relax until you can get into a psychiatrist. Yes, demons have many ways to enter your house or even body. There was a time in my life when I was very interested in Buddhism (still am) so I had quite a few books about it in my house. I was told to throw them all away because that could be an invitation for demons.

Tarot Cards: I have never seen a deck in my life. Things like tarot cards, fortune telling, crystals, Ouiji (sp?) boards, hypnotism, and yoga were forbidden because they are demonic. Of course, I don't believe that anymore and think they would be pretty harmless. Unless you got a bad fortune and made it a self fulfilling prophecy. We have a new agey bookstore here which sells those types of things but I've never set foot into it. I've always been interested in what was inside and told DH I'd like to check it out now. :)

I did not run across these types of christians until homeschooling either. Homeschooling really opened my eyes to the Christian faith and how damaging it is. I'd probably still a Christian today if not for the HSing groups I joined and this forum. It's conflicting for me, though, because I have Christian friends IRL. They don't talk about it and they are completely normal. It's simply not an issue.

I'm laughing because my SIL and I kid each other about our alcohol preferences. I like beer and she likes wine or vodka. :p
