  1. Amy, they are almost 18 months and turned from babies into full blown mountain goats. I'm not sure what this whole going to the bathroom alone thing means... surely you must be kidding. ;)

Robin, they're all doing well. We're enjoying school immensely this year and they're so much fun as they're all getting into their own personal reads too. It's a blast to revisit some of my childhood favorites and discuss them with my littles.

Mumto2, I can't wait to get my hands on it! Hopefully I'll climb to the top of the wait list quickly.

  2. 1. Coffee for life.

    2. I love Aurora Teagarden! I just put a hold on Sleep Like A Baby. I'm pretty sure I've read everything Charlaine Harris has put out...

    3. I am so sad to see Stacia and Eliana go. I'm not quite sure what happened, I'm going to have to go back and reread. :( I've been terrible at trying to get on here and read lately. My time is spent with trying to educate 4 kids, raise twin toddlers, and run around hell's half acre getting things done so I haven't been around as much as I'd like to be.

  3. Kathy, I love Hamilton! I saw it in Chicago opening week by a stroke of luck.

Kareni, I love the HP links! I'm going to have to save those for Christmas time... my kids are reading Harry Potter for the first time and are in L-O-V-E. My almost 10 year old finished the series and promptly began again. ;) My 7.5 year old and newly 9 year old are both halfway through. I reread them with the kiddos just in case they were wigged out by a part.

Robin, thank you for the postcard! It was a pleasant surprise and my six year old stared at it for a good hour. He thought it was the coolest. :)

  4. I love that I haven't had much time to dip my toes into this thread lately but when I return, you're all still in alignment with what I'm doing too. I'm rereading Harry Potter. ;)

I recently read Kevin Wilson's  Perfect Little World which I thought I was going to love based on the plot but his writing style didn't thrill me. It was about a teen who gets pregnant with her art teacher's child and choses to raise the baby in a commune. I felt I kept waiting for the story to come alive and it never really did.

  5. I've had two like that and while both still prefer mama, we just had daddy push through to create his own bond with them. One was breastfed, one was bottle fed so I don't think it had anything to do with feeding in our case. Just a preference. It always seemed so weird to me when my 4th started doing that though because for the first 3, Daddy was just as good as Mama.

  6. Secret Life Of Pets blew me away. I expected it to be this sweetsie little film about pets and how cute/mischievous they are when they're living their lives outside of human eyes based on the trailer. BWAHAHA. No. So violent.

My big kids also cried at Lego Batman because Batman was so very awful to Robin. Especially in the scene where Robin was asking if Batman would adopt him. Shoot, I cried there with how heartless Batman was being. My kids may have called him BatButt after that because he was being such a butt.

  7. Holy Moly alligator! I debated going to visit my father who lives in Florida and we thought the best way to do it would be to bring our pop up camper. Until I read all of the campground websites that say to expect scaly visitors at the campsites. Uh. No. I have 6 little pieces of alligator bait that would be at said campsite... crossing that one off of the list. ;)

  8. I have been stinky at keeping up with these threads lately. My husband brought home Etched In Bone today so I'll be starting that. He was teasing me that he and a coworker judge my books by the cover and try to figure out what they're all about. *snort* They were very disappointed that this one was simple and didn't have enough to go on... but then he apparently found the name Simon Wolfgard and they had a good laugh. ;) I'm glad I can provide them with entertainment. He also has been sucked into a Murakami (IQ84) so you ladies are reaching him too!

  9. Mumto2, I'm excited to hear that about Etched In Bone. I'm waiting for it from the library.

I just finished the latest Mercy Thompson book and wasn't that impressed. It was a bummer because I love Mercy. I'm also a few chapters into Kim Harrison's The Turn and I'm enjoying that one much more! I always wondered the story behind the tomato that knocked out most of the humans in The Hollows series.
